community transport

 There use to be time when I could get the dentist down the road by bus in fact there is bus stop just outside the entrance but not these days unless I want to be walking the cold wet street for an hour before the appointment which is not great, as \I don't really want to be going to the dentist in the first place.

I am due to check up so have to go, I did ring up earlier to see if the appointment could be changed, yes it could from the end of this month to the end of April, \i declined that and stuck the original date but it was going to be a pain in the ass if ever there was one.  I then rememberred that there is community transport scheme that has just started, so |I emailed them to ask if \they could help me and they said ok which is great, I will not have to hang around for ages to wait for my appointment

It is not eaay to a dentist appointment these days so I guess you have to be careful when dealing with the dentist but the local public transport does not make it easy to go to appoinments, I had another appointtment today which was going to be awkard regrding the buses and I might have lost my connection, but they rang up  to cancel which is good thing really though I did not let them off for cancelling at such shott notice. they have given me another appointment which is a bit easier to get to, the appointment is not that important anyway

I did though cancel another appointment to go to the one today whch was a bit of a drag which has left me at a loose end mosot of the day and I cant go anywhere much as the weather is piss poor as fucking usual, rain again its not too cold though which is a minor blessing. It would be nice to have a bit of dry weather to go out in

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
