Bit of a rubbish day, yet again. I was supposed to have an appointment at the hospital today, which is about two hours away by bus, but I booked a ride so it would only take about an hour. The ride turned up, but about halfway there I got a call saying the appointment was cancelled due to illness. I found that a bit odd, as I thought they’d have a replacement. I guess it shows the state of the NHS in Wales—it’s poor. Now I have to go on Saturday, but I’m thinking of changing it. I’d tried to cancel today’s appointment earlier, but they said it was urgent—well, it can’t have been that urgent if no one was there for me today. I just feel messed around. The plan for the day was to go the hospital now I am at a loose end I guess and not sure what to do for the rest of the day.  The saturday one will be by bus unless I change it and then it could be bus too, if the ride is busy. Christmas is nearly over again, and thankfully so—it’s becoming quite a drag these days. Next year will be worse, with an extra bank holiday meaning it’ll drag on even longer than usual. I’ve ended up drinking a lot more beer than normal over the holiday period. At least the weather’s been okay, though it’s been cold.   This morning I came across an article about young footballers in the region—players the writer had enjoyed covering over the past year—and among them was a young man I know, a distant relative. He’s 17 and plays for Dolgellau , with an impressive record of 40 goals in 49 appearances. He’s been with the club for a while now, though he was in an academy at one point. I went to the cookery class, which is now on Thursday mornings instead of Wednesday. I wasn’t sure what I’d be making this week, but I knew I was a week behind the others. So, whatever they made last week, I’d be making this week. The problem was, I couldn’t remember what they made last week. Anyway, it turned out I was making a brownie, which I think is an American dessert that we never had when I was young. The only thing I knew about a brownie was that it had a soft center, and I thought it was made of chocolate. The first part of making the brownie was melting sugar and chocolate together. The teacher explained that I had to do this over a saucepan, not in the microwave, because using the microwave could cause the chocolate to split or get too hot. I wasn’t quite sure what that meant—maybe I’m not supposed to understand as a beginner—but apparently, it’s just about slowly heating the ingredients and nothing else.  There use to be time when I could get the dentist down the road by bus in fact there is bus stop just outside the entrance but not these days unless I want to be walking the cold wet street for an hour before the appointment which is not great, as \I don't really want to be going to the dentist in the first place.  It is the second day of the new year, lets hope this year is bit better than the last one a slight improvement would be useful where my health issues were not such a big a deal as they have been in the last year. Apparently if you live in Wales you have two years less of good health than you do in England that is probably due to many factors including the piss poor labour administration in Cardiff which has grown lazy and stoggy due to being in charge of things for over 25 years and democracy has broken down in Wales  We still have another 2 years of the shit show to go and then the idiots who live in Wales might want more of the same old shit, we can but hope that is not the case, I really don't care who takes over anyone is better than this rubbish Wales needs and deserves a change lets hope the country is not too masochistic and asks for the same old shit again for, apparently another 4 years, it would be so depressing if they did do that  I guess who is in charge in ...

  A bus service was introduced round here in 2021 to accommodate the lockdown, before the lockdwon there was an hourly service here which got rudeced to nearly nothing in the first lockdown and then some buses were added, which is where we are today a skeleton service which is in place a long time after any lockdown was in in place.  This service hampeers people's ability to move around especially during the evening when the schedule stops very early which obviously hampers business. There was suppose to be a new bus service starting 19 months to take the place of the lockdown schedule but due to issues such as nimbyism and other things it is yet to start I rang today for a starting date nothing was forthcoming so this service may or may not start in the future there was not even a rough idea of when this fiasco of the introduction of this service was going end.
