long boring Sunday

The above pic was taken yesterday afternoon, of the Pengwern Arms in Llan Ffestiniog, which is a community run pub, and has been now for nearly 2 years, it was brought by the community with a grant from the National Assembly of Wales, it s run mainly by volunteers, and is open in the evenings and at weekends.  I went there last night and had a local beer from a brewery in Waenfawr near Caernarfon, the brewery is called Big Bog Brewery which is suppose to be Waenfawr translated in English, but I don't think it is exactly right, I guess a bit of poetic licence has been used here and why not.  The pint was very nice, I have seen the brewery's beer in the pub before, but I guess I was put off by the word bog, for obvious reasons, but I won't be put off again, it is very nice.  I think the beer was called Spring Big Bog.

There was another beer on there too, called Seithenyn, which is from another local brewery called Cwrw Llyn, it is also very nice, maybe a bit sweeter than the Big Bog one, not that I'm and expert, I have only just started drinking real ales, always used to drink keg bitter, but the one in the Pengwern, called Tetleys in not too nice, I think I would prefer a tetleys cup of tea,  I thought I would try the draught bitters for a change and they are very nice mainly, some are crap of course and are actually quite horrible, I won't name them here, but apparently the more hoppy they are the more bitter and therefore horrible they are.  These ales a bit stronger than what I'm used to I guess and I probably end up sometimes as the pub bore.

Anyway, at the Pengwern this weekend there is a lot of Easter Fun for all those who will be attending.  There is also a walk being held, taking place over 4 days, a walk to Talycafn.

The winter seems to be going on and on, apparently its the longest winter since 1963,  its bad news for it to go on and on, as the utilities bills will go up and up, the robbing utility companies must be rubbing their hands
