Move from Posterous to Wordpress

Well I have finally managed to move my posterous blog over to Wordpress.  It was a bit of an ordeal, I had a struggle with finding the tools thing in this wordpress program and then I had problems unzipping the files, but I am now here, I just can't find the thing that makes the text big right now but I am sure its here somewhere. I did think I would have to pay to have my blog here but it seems not, which of course is good, I guess it will probably take me a while to get the hang of this new blog thing but I'm sure I'll manage it eventually.


Today I have to the opticians, I need a bit more help with some reading, I have to go for a bog standard exmination, I am sure my eyesight has not changed that much but I guess I am getting older so maybe it has I will find out later I guess, its bit of a pain with the 'bus service' well there is not service really, there are buses going there but not what you would call service,  There are long periods of waiting between buses, which isa nuisance.

I have a picture on my twitter account, which  was taken when I was a teenager, its awful but I thought I would put it up there anyway.  I have changed my mind about going to the opticians, there is too much hanging around regarding buses, so I have changed the time and day of the appointment, to next Thursday, there is still a lot of hanging around after the appointment, its so difficult to get around with public transport these days.

I think I have managed to change the settings on this wordpress so I can now email my post onto the site, which is handy as i can mess about with the fonts on the email site, whereas I haven't found out how to do it on here yet.

email today, from a bloke who organises walks, over the Easter weekend, it seems we are going along a direction we have already been but I'm sure we will be going a different route, i really hope the weather is ok, the last walk was spoilt by the weather, it was raining and it was very windy, hopefully it will be better this time well for most it anyway, I guess if you are looking to walking round here and only want to go in fine weather, then you will never get out, as the weather is so changeable and we don't get nice weather really round here, well not for a long time

Well I have written to this band who want to play in the local pub for nothing, tonight, to ask them if Easter Sunday is ok for them, its a bit short notice, but I guess, it can be organised, if not they can come another time, I am just worried they won't bother if they don't get a response soon.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
