waste

I have ran out of printer ink today, the stuff is just ridiculously expensive, they are taking the piss.  At least I have learnt how to print bits of pages, which will hopefully reduce the amount of ink I use when printing.  I mainly just print off song lyrics. Well the vacuum cleaner is still going ok, I did the right thing by sending the other one back, this cleaner is really handy for someone such as me, who has an eyesight problem, as I can look through the crap that is vacuumed up to see if I have picked something I shouldn't have, and also, if I lose something smallish I can use the vacuum cleaner to 'find' it, as it will hopefully pick it up and, I then can look through the crap for it. I opened a chocolate box today, it was meant for someone else but I will not see them for a while due to circomstances so I opened it and ate some of it myself, its better than it going to waste i guess.

funny what you learn on youtube

I was looking at youtube this morning, mainly in relation to how to use a trekking stick, when I came a across a video, how to tie your walking boot laces, so the boots fit better.  I have new walking boots, but I am bothered about how they tie up.  Anyway I looked at the video but got bored of it, I looked at the other videos on offer and there was one about how to tie you shoes in a better way. I clicked it, and the person started to bang on about how sometimes you tie your shoes or trainer, the classic way, and in about a half an hour or so it starts to unravel, of its own accord.  This rang a bell with me, and listened to video, all way through, it was banging on about tying the laces in a classic way but doubling up on the amount of times you go round, in a part of it.  i tried it, and it works, the laces feel secure and it has not raveled or opened at all, all day.  Its not easy, but I have to the hang of it, and also it opens the usual way.   I have not tried this new method on

pub

I went for a walk today, when I started it was dry but by the time I got home, I was soaked, I needed to go out as I had been stuck the house for a couple of days or so.  I then went out for lunch. Just been looking at some lost pubs website, and found some pubs which I used to got to but they are no longer there, found a few in Loughborough, I think its sad when these places, which have so much tradition, get knocked down.  There was one pub, just by the flat where I used to live, and had some good times there, they had singers there, it was mainly a locals pub really, it was called the Cherry Tree. I used to go there, on the way home after I had to town for a drink.  I wonder if got taken down, just because it would not change, and after the smoking ban, I guess maybe people did not go out anymore, they drank at home maybe, I don't know.  There was also the Crown and Cushin which has now been changed to something else, I used to go there quite often, as i used to know a few of th

cleaner

I got a new vacuum cleaner delivered on Thursday, I tried it out and it seemed to cut out and eventually it did not start at all, something to do with heating of it apparently.  Anyway I rang Vax and they gave me some advice, they said to ring Amazon, who said they would deliver a new one, at the end of next week.  I have since tried the cleaner again and it seems fine now, so I rang Amazon to stop the replacement, apparently this is awkward, so we have decided, myself and Amazon, that I should refuse delivery of the machine, and they will then take back, this is fine, as long as i'm here, but I can always leave a note, also I have to be in to give back the the one which is suppose to be broken, or not I guess, I guess I could make sure I'm out so if someone comes to collect the supposedly broken one then I won't be here.  I am not sure why the cleaner is working now and not before, but I guess I have a chance to see if it will be fine, as I have a week before I have to giv

door

I have at last have a new door between the kitchen and the rest of the place, now in place, hopefully it will be warmer here now.  The door is in a new position, the hinges have been moved to the other side, the other door was kind of in mid air, this one is a slight improvement, it now needs a coat of paint.  If doesn't get any warmer, at least it will block out the racket the central heating boiler makes.   While the door was being put in, I went off to Caernarfon on the bus to look for a frame for my picture, did not find one though, they are not easy to get it seems, I have made some enquiries on line, you never know, I might yet get one, which would be good. Now I've come home and the phone line is dead, apparently there is fault in the exchange, maybe I should not have bothered reporting the fault, at least I would not get any more of those nuisance calls, from some idiot trying to flog something

ESA

I went and did some laundry today, there was not much activity there. While waiting for the bus I noticed the guttering has been ripped down on the bus shelter, kids I guess and they have smashed the bus timetable, though they have left the bus timetable in, which is nice of them. Well I have finally got the letter from the DHSS, and it seems nothing has changed only the name of the benefit which I'm getting, which is good I guess, but I guess I have to be careful, as they are leaving me alone and this could be a bit tricky, as I might stop trying to find work.

pub

I went to the 'last' management committee meeting of the pub tonight, I did not know it was going to be the last until tonight.  Some of the people who were on it have decided, they don't need the input of some of the people who are on it and want to run it their way.  Some rubbish about running it like a business was given as a reason.   Well I guess if they want to run it that way and think they can do it without support then I guess good luck to them, we shall see how far its gets them. I hope they succeed, but I would rather have known about the situation before the evening it was brought up.

I got the files today from the photographer, I hope to print them out and make posters out of them, its not going to be cheap though, the files cost something so does the printing and the framing, but I am sure they will look nice on the walls. I have just tried to see if the pics I bought can be made into posters and they are fine, it all depends on the resolution apparently., I have now ordered a poster, so hopefully there will be a nice sea view on my bleak walls soon. The picture is of one of the files I have chosen, I got them from a website takes photos of the llyn peninsula

tough going

It has been a long dreary drab Sunday, but I guess I had an idea it would be like that, no football to listen to, and no walk to go on like I had last Sunday.  I have fallen asleep in the chair this afternoon and I guess that will make it awkward when I'm trying to get to sleep this afternoon.   This tinnitus is really bad again, I don't know how much it has affected my hearing.  Sundays are really tough days to deal with, I am not sure why, maybe because there is no decent transport out of there.  I am dreading xmas too, its like a load of Sundays, but at least there is a break this year, xmas eve is on a Monday, so there will be a bus service.  I am still waiting for the bloody benefit thing too, its seems to be taking ages, it might be bad but I guess I want to know either way.

hair

I have had really bad tinnitus today, I can't believe, I have caused this misery, just playing music too loud, having too much bass on it or something, its vile, its been a fucking nightmare to be honest, its unreal.  I got another appointment today to go and see a consultant about this fucking noise, it was cancelled last week due to floods, I don't think there is fuck all they can do about it really but I guess you never know but I doubt it, I am glad I got an appointment so quick though, the only problem, is it is at an awkwardish time I am not sure whether to ring up and ask for another appointment or not.  if I am seen on time, and that's a big if, the appointment is fine, but if not, its a nightmare, I guess I could ring them up and talk to them about the situation. I went and had a haircut today, The person did not even ask me what I wanted, just got on and cut it, its ok though, it has done the job its not quite so heavy now as it was, I guess as I get older I am qu

panic

The dream I had while asleep last night was not very nice, its actually funny, that I remember a dream I don't often do.  I dreamt last night that I had left this house and gone to live in another house and ended up living with 2 morons. I paniced and wanted to return back here. I think the reason I dreamt about moving was due to the fact I had was talking about it yesterday I think, and how I'm not quite so sure about the whole thing, I was also talking about it with my brother, as he is moving soon.   I have since found out that friend has moved to Telford, she has invited me down there, too far to  go though I think, that might have had something to do wtth the dream too

walk

Well I managed to get up and go for the walk I have been thinking about going on anyway.  It was with the ramblers and the walk took place round here, around this village.  It was 9 and a half miles in all, I think some poeple were a bit disgruntled because it went on so long as it was down the the program, that it was only going to be about 7 miles.  I enjoyed it anyway, it went down passed the pub and then back up to the village, and back along the river passed Cynfal Fawr, and then on up to Toman Y Mur, which is an old Roman Fort.   On the way back we went passed some farms back to the village.  I did manage to get one foot wet, as I stepped in a stream.  The new boots, though all in all did well and can why people pay more money for them, they are better than the cheap ones.

mobile phone

I had an appointment at Llandudno hospital today at 3.20, I decided to go on the 12-00 bus, thought I could spend some time in Llandudno, though the weather was awful..  I had a bit of look round the town and then decided about 2.30 to and find a bus. I could not walk to the hospital, I would have got soaked.  I did not know what time there was going to be a bus or even if I was in the right place waiting for it but if it got late I would have got a taxi.  Anyway I waited and waited, no buses came along. then I saw that the bus company I had come with had a bus at about 3 which would be just in time for my appointment.   Anyway, at about just before 3, the my mobile phone went, and it was the hosptal saying the doctor was not coming to the hospital, as he was stuck in a tunnel which was flooded out between Llandudno and Bangor. I was told the clinic would be on again in a couple of weeks. I was glad I had the mobile phone as I was now able to get the 3 o clock bus home, otherwise I wou

sack

I decided to go Pwllheli today for the afternoon and splashed out on a new jumper in Asda , I find that the George stuff is quite good for what you pay for it.  The only thing is the lack of choice I guess, they could have more stuff there.  The one in Pwllheli is not big at all. I also had some chips in Pwllheli for lunch, though its not that easy trying to eat them on the street, as those verminous seagulls were hovering ahead, not sure whether they were gonna come an bug me or just crap on me, I don't like the damned things they are a nuisance in towns, its people's fault I guess, as they have started to feed them, so now they have made their towns home, they have got too lazy to go and fish near the seas, apparently they are an endangered species , well I don't like them so I have no sympathy for them. I also heard today that Chelsea have sacked Dimatteo, which is a shame, they might have given him a bit longer, especially if they are only going to employ the tapas wa

tv

I delivered the leaflets I was asked to do today, though it was a bit of a palaver. I forgot to take enough the first time so had to go home and get some more.  It was quite interesting, I found out who lives where.  I think a lot of the houses up there are second homes but they might be up for weekend and appreciate the information on the leaflet. I also did some gardening with new sheers, they are not as good as I hoped, but maybe I bought the wrong thing, for the job i wanted to do.  I have started to watch tv online, but there is a hell of a lot of buffering, I need faster broadband or something like that, I will have to look into it, or a half hour program will take an hour to watch with the stopping that goes on.  There is a better picture on the laptop than there is on the tv, well I have never been happy with the tv really, I should not have bought in the first place, but after being ripped off by Curry's the crooks, its a shame its not them going under and not Comet, I nee

Untitled

I had a vicious night last night, of acid reflux its a vile condition, and I am in pain today, I tried to get off the bloody pills but I guess I will have to take them for awhile  longer. The bloody football team lost again, though its only a game its becoming a habit.  I went to Porthmadog today just for a bit of shopping and came back to watch the footie on some live stream. I could not work out the language the commentary was in though, but was quite good quality the broadcast anyway. I bought a chicken for tea, I paid a fiver for it, I don't think I have ever paid so much money for a roasted chicken from a supermarket before, things are just going up and up it seems, and I am not getting any more money in. I guess I am ok for the time being but if things keep going up and up, I might get into bother.  There was no post again which was a relief, which will have a baring on my money situation I guess, not too much though I hope.

discrimination

It was a very nice sunny day today, thought I could dry some clothes, but I guess there was no wind, so it was not possible. There was an election for some police commissioner today, I went to vote but I had no idea who I was voting for, but I thought I had better go, and anyway I had nothing better to do really. According to a couple of charities in Wales, a third of blind and partially sighted live below the poverty line, it not surprising really as most are discriminated against in relation to work.

job

I had the bright idea to ask someone if they would do a talk in the local pub, they think its a good idea, now I have to do the work to organise it, like designing a poster, then going round trying to get people to come to it.  Sometimes I like most people do things without thinking things though.  I have another project regarding the pub too, but I have at last got one response regarding that, which should be ok. I ran out of potatoes today, so will have to remember to get some more when I am out shopping next, its a hard life this running a house bit, or whatever you call it.  I filled in a job application today, I doubt it will come to anything but I guess there is no harm in trying.

time

I am reading a book on time perception, for me time sometimes feels like I am watching it fly by, and I have no control of it, its quite disconcerting really, but I guess that's life.   Another crap result for Chelsea FC, guess the team is not working too good right now.  It was also a crap game.  I cleaned the kitchen today, I had some hot water, the boiler broke yesterday but the engineer came out pretty quickly last night to fix it.  It has been a nice day weather wise today, its a shame that we have these damned dark evenings.

rick

Image
Its been a vile day weather wise today.  Went to Blaenau for a jam this morning, I came mid afternoon.  Apparently the Children in Need rickshaw challenge was coming through here, though when I came off, you would not think anything was going on really, as there was no one around.  The weather was vile too vile I guess, I actually thought the people would just pass through in a van, which they did really but the rickshaw was being ridden by someone.  After passing my house there is a bit of climb up a hill.  I doubt they will have collected much money today due to the bad weather, but they may get more if the weather improves on in the days to come

golf

I went for a bit of a stroll this afternoon through the golf course, there was no one there playing any golf, well I did not see anyone anyway, I think the place is struggling for members, not enough young people coming through, and it therefore might close down which would be a shame really. I have no interest in playing golf, I think its a boring game really, but at least it takes care of the land that is there, and its a nice walk through there.  I think my walk was more strenuous than I thought, as I fell asleep at tea time in front of the telly, which I guess will make it awkward to sleep tonight.   Last week I went to a whist drive, but apparently they are not doing one now until after xmas.

council

I see today that the council is being its usual awkward self, the recycling lot have already been this morning, usually they are not here until lunchtime, so I don't bother putting the box out until mid morning of the day its suppose to be collected, which I think is reasonable, but today it was not good enough it seems, as they have already been. I went to  Bangor this afternoon for a ride on the bus. I did not need anything really but it was a day out I guess.

whist

Its a bit parky today, I guess winter is here.  I have decided to go to a whist drive, I thought they had died out really except for the odd fund raiser, but apparently this will be done every week if its a success.  I have been tweeting in relation to the pub for a few months now and its not that easy really, as what I tweet has to represent the pub I guess.  People seem to be following it, not that many at the moment but hopefully it will increase, its a good idea to tweet in relation to getting out there and for people to know you. The controversy in relation to the resource centre is still rumbling on, its not such a nice place as it used to be.

guitar

I have this vile tinnitus thing going on, I got a letter for an appointment to have some scan next week, regarding, it, not sure if they can do much, so here's hoping.  They originally sent me an appointment for twenty to 8 in the evening, well I could have got there but there was no way I would be getting back, as the hospital is 40 miles away and there is no bus back here at that time of night.  They did manage to change it for me which is good and can now go next Monday, in the day time. I also took my guitar to be fixed today, the machine head has come off somehow or other, I think it might have been due to the fact that I might have forced it into to the new case which I bought the other day.  Anyway I can't find the screws that have come out so I have taken the guitar to a shop in Bangor which apparently fixes them, there is also a problem with a noisy B sting, there is a tinny ring going on with it, hopefully they might sort that out too, whole thing might cost a few qui

Porth Ysgo

I took a trip to Pwllheli today, I wanted to go to the tourist information place there, to ask them for the directions to a place called Porth Ysgo, I guess I could have phoned but maybe I thought I could after visiting the information place but it turned out that the place was just too far to visit today.  Maybe I can go tomorrow, while in the information place a woman said she would have come with me if she was not working, I am so glad that some people are employed in this  country. Anyway I think I have all the information I need to get there and back now. I caught the train back from Pwllheli, it is a lot faster than the 'round the world' which goes there and much more comfortable too, due to having a loo on board.  I went to tesco after getting back to Porthmadog, and made the same mistake I did a while ago and bought the barbecue chicken for lunch its horrible and definitely won't make that mistake again.

lost

I went for a walk this afternoon and got lost, got the most lost I have ever been I think, but I did manage to find my way home and I did not have to ring for assistance, I got my feet wet though, but that is nothing for me I usually get wet, but I guess this was really my own fault, should have had proper foot ware on.  I did enjoy some of the walk though even though I got lost, it nice to get out there. I think I need to get better directions than I was given this time.  Apparently the route I was trying to follow, but got lost, is part of a walk called the Cistercian Way, which links a lot of the churches in Wales up, doubt I will be attempting the whole thing though, not if I get lost on a small part of it.

John Arthur

I went to the funeral of the one the local lads from the village today, he died on Monday aged 54 from that crap called cancer.  I was not sure weather to go as I had not seen him for a few years really.  Anyway I went, it was being held at the top of the street here just a few doors away, as i walked up the street at 10 this morning, I was gobsmacked by the number of peopl who were there there must have been over a 1000, probably the biggest number I have ever or will ever see at a funeral here in the village.  The people were in the middle of the road and the traffic could not pass. I was wondering why the police had not stopped the traffic, maybe they were not expecting so many people. The coffin was carried to the graveyard on the back of one of the family lorries.  After the service in the cemetry a lot of the crowd, went to the Pengwern for drink and something to see, I was a bit apprehensive whether the place could cope so I went and gave them a hand for a while just collecting

Untitled

I went to Bangor today on the new bus service, the one replacing the old X32, this service is called 32 as well, but this only goes from Porthmadog to Caernarfon/Bangor, whereas the other one came all the way from Machynlleth.  I am glad this service is there, I was worried that once the X32 had gone, we would be left at the mercy of Express Motors 's 'service' to Bangor, which goes all the way round the small villages and takes for ever.  This service is actually better than the old one as it stop everywhere, the other only had designated stops on the route.  I am just so glad we are not completely at the mercy of distressed motors round here, they are a real crap company. When I got to Bangor I went to the guitar shop, which has changed hands, it is now run by a couple from Penrhyndeudraeth, I am sure I have seen the lady of the shop before but could not remember where.  I wanted to sort out some twanging noise which my guitar makes, which the top E makes and is very frus

rent

It has been a dry sunny day for a change weather wise.  I got another letter regarding the rent for this place, apparently I might owe a little back rent, well they will get if they come and fix this place any time soon, I have to wait a long time to get anything done in this place lately.  The council were bad but this lot are worse even though in reality they are the same lot as the council just under a different name.

racket in ears

I have had an awful racket in my ear today, its some shit called tinnitus, I can think of worse words for it, its rotten.  I deposited some money in the bank today, probably for the first time in ages. I also some Virginia, someone who worked at a place where I still go to and which is going through some changes, which don't seem to be working really, as the place is mainly empty. The health these days is suffering a bit, someone said things went down hill after 50 and they are sure heading that way as far as i can see, which is a bit sad.

crap tv signal

Today, is another  horrible day regarding the weather, its bloody rained all day so far, I am actually sick of talking about the crap weather we have had this year, its sickening.  The bit of wind we have had today, has been enough to blow the tv signal off, it does not take much, it gets blow off quite easily, the analog signal did not disappear so much.  When this happens usually the signal is restored by tea time, we shall see what happens.   I was asked to cover a shift today, but the job is boring really, and Sundays can drag there, pretty much like they do here really.  If they had really wanted me i guess they would have rang again, I was suppose to be going away too this weekend but due to a bad cold I did not manage it.  Maybe I will have a go at going next weekend or the weekend after.

form

Today I got the dreaded medical forms, I am not too sure how they can decide who gets what from just a form, I guess thats why they can call on a medical.  I have heard that if people appeal, they have a good chance of getting the money back, which I guess does not paint a good picture of this company who are doing this analyses of who will get what.  I did get the forms, as I say but they have not given me a date when I ams suppose to have filled them in. I will have to ring them up again, which is a bit of a pain.  The whole process is a bit of a a pain really, but like the doctor said, there are many people who are in the same situation. Someone has offered to help m fill the forms in, which is handy It is a nice day today here weather wise though a bit cooler than it has been.  This afternoon I listened to Chelsea on the radio, they left it late to win the game, I think they have a lot to do if they are going to win something this season. I am not sure if I will go out tonight, the

alcohol

I have just been thinking about this gathering together of community pubs in North Wales, not much response from two, but a good response from one.  It would be great to talk about ideas for improving the situation, and we could do things such as sell memberships, which is what I have heard a bit about in the last few days.  You could probably arrange holidays for people who want the community pub experience I guess, the options are many and varied.  Alcohol is a part of life I know it does a lot of damage, apparently there are over a million alcoholics in the country, I am not sure how they come up with this number, but that's how it goes.  I do like a pint but you need to be careful with alcohol, it can become a problem and a real bad one for some, where I guess in the end it will kill you. It seems that the community pub thing is catching on, there is one opening in Minera called Tyn y Capel, and one thinking of opening in Conwy, called the Red Lion in Tyn-y-Groes, which has ask

rain

Its been a long old day, the forms for review have not arrived again, I had better ring them as they might stop the transactions if I don't.  I think I have sorted the insurance problem out.  This afternoon I did some shopping and then came home and had some tea, I should probably not eat as much as I do, as tonight I sat down in a chair and caught my coat in it, the coat ripped, if I had not been so heavy I doubt it would have ripped so much.  I need this coat tomorrow, as i am gong for a walk, I will decide in the morning whether I will go for the walk or not, there is always some problem or other these days. It seemed to be raining and then bright sunshine today, which made it difficult to put out my clothes to dry as I had to take them in as soon as I had put them out.

noise in ear

Wow! its been another day where it doesn't stop raining, seem to have been loads of them recently, not a lot I can do I guess.  It has finally stopped, and I was able to go for a walk..  I am not too happy about the way things are going right now, this tinnitus thing is pretty bad today, its horrible

CCG

I got a funny phone call today, from the housing association I rent this place from, they were doing a survey and wanted to know if I had some long term illness, now I don't know if they were showing concern, but I doubt it, so told them to mind their own business.  These companies I reckon use this kind of information to sell to companies. and make money out of it. It is no concern of a landlord what my state of health is, the only concern they should have is about me paying rent, which I do, and them fixing the place, which they don't

rubbish wales football team

So this is the last day of being 49, how bloody depressing it is too, I really hope, I get no cards as I don't want anything to do with the number really its horrible. I have made twitter account for the local pub, I am not sure if it will be any good but I guess I can try.  The benefit forms have not come again today, but I am sure they will get here soon.  Today was a bad after that appalling display by the football team, they were a disgrace, it will be a long time before I take any notice of what they are doing again.

disability

Image
I went for a walk along this path the other day, it was quite straight forward, except for the last bit.  The next day I went to the hospital for an ENT appointment.  Yesterday I went to work for a few hours, all those things have for some reason, left me feeling tired today. Its a nice day today though weather wise.  Hopefully we will have another few nice days as the summer has been appalling weather wise. I see the paralympics is coming to an end, I was hoping that the thing would change the attitude of people to disability, but I doubt it will, I think that is due to the fact that the thing is segregated.  Some of the gaffes that some of the people said regarding disability were amusing.

sarn yr offeiriad

I decided to go for a walk today, decided to tackle a route I had heard about a long time ago, the information about the route was on a route card, it seemed quite easy to follow.  I did check it out on the satellite map and I knew it was a quite a popular walk so it must be straight forward.  I was not sure if I was going to tackle all of it today, but in the end I did finish it.  The hard bit really was getting the bus back to Betws y Coed, in the end I got a lift from some people I know from the next town. I should have taken some food really as I was ravenous by the time I got back home, I made assumptions that I would find somewhere to eat, buy I did not and I guess I was not sure if I was going to tackle it all, I probably should be more decisive next time

crappy life

I did something I have never done before today, I have eaten 3 mars bars, I guess that's what happens when you buy 4 of them in one go I suppose, they were a deal in the MrCalls shop. I went to Porthmadog today to do some shopping the tesco shop was not as busy as it has been due to the holiday makers going home I guess, I guess school is starting next week. I have just got a call from someone asking me if I wanted to go for a walk tomorrow, but I am already booked to do the washing up, I guess that's life, many a sunday I have sat here bored and maybe would have like to go for a walk but nothing happening, where now that I have got something to do or, I have promised to do something, the phone goes and and i get asked to do something, sod's law is what you call or its just how crappy life works I guess, its a fucking pain sometimes

walk

Today I went to Betws y Coed to look for a new pair of walking boots, the ones I have are leaking water, I thought I would treat myself to some new ones.  I took the lunch time train to Betws, I wanted to go to the Sports direct shop, I finally found it and had a look round and eventually bought some boots, made by brashier which is famous for making walking boots.   They seem quite nice and will hopefully do the job for a few years and will keep MY FEET DRY. It is not easy buying boots as there is so many to choose from.  I read the review on these boots and they reckon they are made for low land walking, well I guess that's what I do most of the time.  Anyway, they too 20 quid off the price which was nice. I rang the DWP this morning to ask for a more appropriate form to fill regarding the benefit I receive.

boots

Well, I finally found my memory stick, where I thought it might have been, under the carpet.  I had been looking for it for ages, but was convinced it was not there but I finally thought I had better take a look in case it was there and it was.  I can stop mythering about that now anyway.  I am glad I got the photographs back I was not that bothered about anything else really.  It seems my twitter account is ok again too, which is good. Today I went to Bangor to look for some walking boots, mine are in a bad way, they let in water everywhere, lucky I have waterproof socks but I need a good pair of boots, its not easy to find some though, they are so expensive and I am worried I might buy the wrong things, I did see some good ones today, but I was not sure whether to buy them or not, I am not how I will come to the decision about buying them, maybe I will just go for the brasher hillmaster, which seem to be the ones that everyone wears, they are over a hundred quid, but I guess once I h

stamps

Its been a vile day weather wise, I really hope next weekend is a lot a better as I am going walking for a few days.  I bought a set of stamp commemorating Jade Jones's Olympic triumph today, they might be worth some money one day, probably not when I'm around.  They also got a bit wet in the rain, as did I.

The weather has not been too good today, I  had to go to the doctor this morning and it the rain was lashing down.   For the last few days I have been following the gold medal winner Jade Jones on the tv and on twitter, its interesting to see how her life is changing now she has won a gold medal.  This evening she was apparently moved from standard class to first class on a train as she was going home from London.  Someone asked her if she wore it all the time, she must be getting fed up of having it constantly round her neck Just listening to the football game between Wales and the Bosnia team, it is another piss poor display by Wales in a whole line piss poor displays.

Llandrilo

I had a day out on the bus to Abergele today, I was trying to find olympic stamps, but had no luck there apparently Llandudno did have some but they are finished, and could not tell me when they would be there again, I guess I will just have to give on that one.  It funny travelling around here and hearing the way that none Welsh speaking people pronounce the names of place, today I heard someone pronounce Llandrillo, as landrilo, quite amusing.  I found it difficult to pronounce names in England too, it take time I guess to understand how things are said.

Gemma Gibbons @deijos1

Oh well, the Olympics are over, and they were pretty good too, it was 2 ladies who made it for me, Jade Jones winning the taekwondo and Gemma Gibbons winning a silver in the Judo.  I think probably it was Gemma's which was the most significent win as I don't think she was given much of a chance of a medal, and also British Judo was in relation to the Olympics was not in a good state, hopefully it will get better now due to Gemma's success.

volunteer

I was asked to do a shift of work today, I guess the money is handy, though I am not enamoured by the job, I have been doing it for years, I have not been able to move on, there is no work about.  There was someone new there today, who I had not worked with before. This evening I went to a meeting of the volunteers who work at the local pub, I volunteered to do some washing up, I guess it all helps in relation to the place being a success.

Beer

I had a bit too much to drink last night, did not feel too good this morning.  Beer has got very expensive, not surprised that people drink at home.  I seemed to have developed a sore wrist, hopefully an ice pack will help me sort it out, my other health problem has improved. I had a bit of a disagreement with my cousin on facebook regarding whether the guy with false legs should be allowed to run against people in the olympics, I don't think he should, the race should be for people with 2 human legs, I think its political correctness gone silly.

pub

I was asked to do some voluntary work down the pub today, but there was no one there who seemed to anything about it, so came home, to watch more olympics, where hopefully the lady from London will do something in the Judo, she is through to the semi final.  The weather is a bit better here today.

Judo

I have been watching judo all morning, from the olympics in London, no British success so far in it, but some interesting bouts, Judo seems to have changed a bit since I was a child doing it,  You had to hold down the person for 30 seconds when I was young apparently its only 15 now and the score of koka seems to have disappeared, which was present when I was younger.  I guess I wish I had carried on with it now, especially seeing it in the olympics, I made some good friends in the club, the problem I had was my father I guess he sort of took over and made us go so we got fed up of it I guess.  I remember some of the names used for throws even though its such a long time ago. Today is also council tax paying today, which I have done. I also have a dentist appointment, they seem to come round quite quickly these days, I guess time goes by a lot quicker these days.  This is my first day back on blogger,  I thought I would give it a go again with it. My teeth seemed to fine and I have

broadband

It has been a rotten day weather wise more of the damned wet stuff, it seems all we get is the crappy stuff.  Also my tinnitus has been playing up really bad for the last few days, its really vile.   I rang the broadband company up this morning and the chappy who answered reckons my broadband is not stopping tomorrow so I don't need a new supplier, but I was told otherwise by someone else who works for the company I guess I shall just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Tanner

My raging tinnitus is playing up again today, its vile, I have this piercing noise in my head, it is quite maddening.  I went to a funeral of a friend today, his name was Tanner, well that was what everyone called him anyway, that was his surname his first name was Alun, he was a very nice chap, your stereotypical gentle giant I guess you would say.  I did not go to the church only to the cemetry, people were wearing Liverpool football shirts there, I was not sure why at first then it dawned on me, he was a liverpool supporter.  I guess no one is perfect, I did not know he was such a fan though, but I guess he was.  Some told me he looked terrible just before he passed away, he was a big man, apparently he had lost a lot of weight due to the cancer, I am glad I did not see him that way and can remember him as he was, a big jolly chap, which he was really. RIP Mr Tanner. I have this pain in my neck which I have had for months and it won't go away, guess its because I am getting olde

olympics

Its not too bad a day weather wise today.  It is the second day of competition in the Olympics in London.  it is nice to see the Judo again today, its pretty exciting stuff really, though I am a bit dubious about how people win. But i guess it is many many years since I did some Judo, but it gave me an appetite to give it a go again, though I am probably bit too long in the tooth for it now I would think, but I guess you never know, the training would be good and it would handy for the exercise and it would get me out of the house. I have only a couple more days of this broadband then I will have to buy a new one, I need to ring the talk talk thing about some MAC code too.

pub

Today is the day that the olympics starts here in Britain, so it will be another few weeks of sport, I have seen a lot of sport on tv this summer, including the football tournament and then wimbledon.  I usually like the Olympics really, and I am sure I will enjoy this one, I would like to go to London to see the park to be honest , maybe I will when the disabled olympics starts as the place will not be quite so busy then, and I met a ticket to go in there, I guess a lot of people will think like this too, I will see how it goes. I don't have a lot let of this present service provider, only few days and apparently I have to wait for another 2 weeks before I can get an internet connection. I did not know it would be like this when I started to change the the service provider but talk talk won't supply me with a stand alone broadband service, for some reason. I went to Caernarfon today for the afternoon, and to do a bit of shopping, also I joined twitter today, I don't quite

walls

I still have not found my memory stick, its a bit of a nuisance.  The guy who did the decorating came round today, and I have since found some part of the job I am not that happy with, the paper seems a bit lose in some places, I understand that the walls here are of poor quality and really need improving, but I am a bit concerned the paper will get ripped eventually.  There is not a lot I can do now, as the walls have been papered, so its not possible to fix them. I got rid of an old freeview box today, to one of those recycling sites, the chap came to get it this evening, I had no use for so someone else might as well have it really.

tennis

The paste on the wallpapering is drying up slowly, this house has a lot of condensation so I guess it will take a few days.  I have noticed that some of the paper is a bit lose to, so it will need some more paste I guess.  i still have not found that memory stick.# This afternoon I watched the tennis, in the end the Scottish guy lost, but gave it a good shot, his serve seemed to let him down when the roof was on, I guess it was the pressure of the match maybe.  Today it has rained again for most of the day.  I am glad that the decorating has been done, I can put the room back the way it was now.

pick up

I got up this morning with a bit of a hangover, I drank more than I wanted to again, this is probably because I went out too early again.  The weather is a lot better today, it has stopped raining, but apparently its on its way back again, there have been bad floods in other parts of the country. My living room still stinks of wallpaper paste, which is taking a while to dry after being put up yesterday.  its funny how white wallpaper makes the room look bigger.  I think I will paint the walls eventually with magnolia paint probably, like there is on the walls of the rest of the house. the walls of the rest of the house could do with a bit of fresh paint on them, but I am not a fan of painting really, maybe I will get someone else to do it for me.  I seem to be having some difficulty finding a pair of glasses that I have, this is due to things having had to be moved around due to the decorating, also I can't find a memory stick either, but good thing about the moving about is that I

interview

Today I had an interview for a job at the local council offices.  I had difficulty getting prepared for it, my shirt collar was a bit tight, I guess I will have to buy a new shirt.  I heard this afternoon that I was not successful but I guess I knew that, I was not that bothered about getting a job which was only to cover maternity leave really, it would be nice to have a job that lasted a bit longer than that.  The people who were interviewing were very nice though.  The weather is foul today, this afternoon also I went to my nephew's birthday party, it was a bit noisy but I guess thats what kids do, is make noise.

Shrewsbury

I got up today, not feeling too good, after having too much to drink last night, I am not sure why I drink the stuff I do, as I don't really like the thing, but I don't like much else that is served in a pub really. I did not venture too far today due to not feeling too good, also I was not sure where to venture to, I think a change of routine might be required. I saw an article about the town of Shrewsbury in the paper today, and I am planning a trip there next week. Wales lost again in the rugby in Australia, I think, they lost because they did not want it as much as Australia, sometime all the skill and all the talent in the world won't get you over the line, sometime, you really have to want it and believe it, I think Wales sees itself more of a team, 'real' countries have that added incentive of being mature to believe they can win especially at home, that's why Wales will not achieve nothing significant on the world stage until it breaks away from English

pics

There is a a photographic exhibition in the local pub, the photss date from the 70's.  There is one there of my mother and father, which is nice, but I wish I had been told beforehand that it was going to be there.  There are photos of other people I know there too, these photos are like a window into the past.  There a few of the people I don't recognise and but i hope to find out in the near future who they are, I am sure someone in the village knows who they are. It a lot better weather wise today, its been horrible for days, so much rain, we get enough of the damned thing in the winter

floods

I had a bit of a hangover today after overindulging last night. I drank more than I had hoped to, but I guess its done now.  I have not had a very eventful day due to the hangover.  The weather is better today, not so much rain, but I saw photos of Aberystwyth and they have had a lot of floods there.  I guess we are lucky we live on top of a hill.  I have watched football for most of this evening, and I guess it the start of a summer of sport, next will be the Olympics, and Wimbeldon, after a month of this football, its just a shame that Wales can't get to one of these tournments

maddening tinnitus

Today has been a long really boring day, the weather people said there was going to be reai today, but none turned up, I shall have to stop listening to their crap.  This is the last bank holiay for a while thank God, as they are getting a bit tedious. This rotten tinnitus has been vile all day, I really hope it improves soon as its maddening.  I am in the middle of applying for a job but there seems to be the same obstacle in my way as hhas been present for a while, well since I moved here anyway, I don't posses a driving licence and that will never change.  There might be a couple of other things that might stop me from getting the job too, but the main one is the not driving bit. I made a curry for my tea, with chicken and some paste I have had in the cupboard fora a few months now, I thought it would not be very good as I have had a few shop bought curries lately and they have been rubbish but actually this lamb biryani from a jar was not all that bad really.  I made enough for

nuisance marketing calls

Today is the third day of a really long weekend, its appauling really that there is 2 bank holidays just because some old bird has been spongig off the state for 60 years.  I tried to find the path to the water works again but failed, I can't find it on the map either, I will need someone to show me where it is I guess.   One oood thing about this jubilee crap, there is no nuisance marketing calls.

hangover

I had a bit of a hangover today, have not been feeling too good all day really.  I also got my computer back today, with a hefty bill attached to it, they also forgot to put the discs which I gave them, in the bag, I shall have to go and get them at some point next week.  My tinitus is bad today, maybe its the beer or something else.  I was talking to my cousine about it last night as she has it too, its a horrible thing.

Untitled

Today was Criccieth Fair.  I use to look forward to it when I was younger.  I guess it does not have the same impact today.  Apprently the one this month is the smaller one and there is a bigger one next month. Today is a sad day if you are a Chelsea fan, as Didier Drogbas said he is leaving the club, I have no idea who will score goals for us now

persuasion

A few months ago I advertised on a recycling site, regarding an old ceramic shower basin, there was no response, so it was still here in the garden.  The other day I decided to try again and get rid of it, without having to resort to paying the council to come and pick it.  This time I advertised is a thing that you could grow plants in, as a raised bed or something, this time someone has showen some interest and they are coming to pick it up tomorrow apparently.  It is really interesting how if you put some kind of spin on something, that it has an effect, but I guess I knew this as I have done a course on it, the art of persuasion is very interesting.  I am now wondering if I could get rid of an old mattress, if put some spin on it.

baked potato

Wasted a bit of time this morning, thought someone would be somewhere but they weren't.  While listening to the radio this morning someone suggested, as a way of cooking a baked potato quicker, to put a skewer in it, so the heat travels inside I guess, I tried it today and it not make much difference as far asi can see, so I will stick to the microwave which does do it qjuickly.   This evening I rang my phone company, as they are offering free broadband and phone cals to new customers, so I thought I should have this too being a loyal customer.  Apparently I am not able to have this offer as the exchange is wrong or something, I am not sure what they meant, but they gave me a fiver off for the next 6 months anyway, well they said they will anyway, I guess I shall just have to wait and see.  Today also I saw the British Gas are giving new customers a 1000 pound off their bills, seems qjuite nice, I have not rang them up yet.

tinnitus 2

My tinnitus seems better today after an awful weekend of it, hoefully I am over the worst and it will settle down hopefully.   It has been a very eventul day really, just did some laundry and some shopping and chatted to few people.

dog

It has been a slight improvement weather wise today, it was vile yesterday.  It is very cold for April.  I have just had a uncontrolled dog in my garden, I think its owned by the people a couple of doors away, it tried to rush me, but I got in to the house before it did.  It has also made a hole in the fence trying to get through to my garden, here we go again, some other unpleasent episode involving neighbours.

tinnitus

For a few months now, I have had really bad tinnitus in my left ear, I have had it for a long time but its only been this bad for about 6 months, I must have done something to antagonise it or something, played music too loud or something, but the fact is, it is bloody horrible.  I know its a pretty common condition but this does not help live with it. I am not sure how it came about, either due to some medication I got from the doctor or it may have been some other 'medication' or a mixiture of both I am not too sure, but I have had for about 20 years. I have had bad periods of it in the past and it has settled down, this period is pretty long and I am worried it might not settle down at all. I have been given some medication by the doctor, but I am not sure this is the way to go.  I have also been referred to the ENT department, hopefully they might help me out with it, not sure when I will get to see them as in the NHS, everything takes time. So Chelsea will play Bayern Muni

hotmail shit

Not a bad day weather wise, but its Sunday so not a very exciting day at all.  I have just spent about 20 minutes deleting contacts from my hotmail accounts, contacts I did not bloody add in the first place, the hotmail crap is a nuisance for adding any old shit contact, which then leads to me having to sit here deleting the shit

fuss

I went to Pwllheli on the bus this afternoon and on the way back the driver was rang up regarding a purse which was left on the bus, and which had 80 quid in it.  The purse was found but there was only 30 quid in it, I thought she had probably made a mistake and would be glad to just get the purse back anyway, but driver made a big deal of it and wanted to check the cctv and things, I could not understand the fuss.

lemon bakewell

I went for a swim this morning, to Porthmadog, the pool was busy but there was space to swim on the far left hand side, so I went there, then someone else decided they wanted the same spot, so I was not going to argue about it and I moved a bit further in, some people are just rude I guess.   This afternoon I walked from Blaenau but had a lift.  It is not a bad day weather wise, the wind is a bit chilly but its dry and that's the main thing. Today I also brought a box of Mr Kippling's lemon bakewell tarts, I have eaten a few of these over the last few weeks, they are very nice, I thought I was getting sick of them but no chance. I think they only make them around easter time, so I am hoping there won't be any in the shops soon, but I am sure I will find something else to stuff my face with.

blackbird

Today is another fine, not sure how long this good weather will last and maybe we won't see anymore of it again this year, that seems to be the way in last few years, a spurt of good weather in early spring and then nothing, no summer, well I hope this year is different and we do get a bit of a summer.  Things feel a bit better when you have nice weather, instead of the constant rain or cold that we usually get around here. I came across a blackbird this morning which was messing about in the guttering, I am not too sure why it was there, I had a look and there was nothing there which I thought it would be interested in, it seems to have gone now anyway.

home recording

It is a lovely spring day today, its very warm the warmest day of the yare really. and also the clock went forwards last night.  I am still trying to get the hang of this home recording lark and to understand thei soundcard or audio interface or whatever its called, and I really struggling, its so damned awkward.  i am trying to record using audacity, I understand that ok but the blood sound card is really making live awkward for me, and I am thinking about getting rid of it, just dumping it in the bin and buying another one, but I guess i could end up in the sam situation again where the sound card just messes me around.  i am not sure what to doi really, I really want to get some recording done but its eluding me right now and is very frustrating

Untitled

oh the fun of travelling on public transport, today on a bus there was  woman who came on, she had two dogs with her and they were jumping all over the place has their noses in people's bags, the woman had no control over them, I think the consensus was she and the dogs should have been thrown off.  On another journey today, there were 2 obnoxious gits making a racket..good ole public transport..;)

gas

It is a nice day weatherwise today, though the wind is cold. I have just come home from Blaenau, and on my doorstep was the gas man, I did not get any notice about him coming so the place was not as tidy and spick and span as it usually is, apparently I was not the only that had no received any notice of him coming and he had spent the day not getting answers, I am used to the situation really, as had it loads of times while a tennat to the coucil.  My phone went as I was on the bus coming back here and I could not hear who it was, it just dawned on me that it  might have been the gas man, and he has now gone so I will not be able to aske him, unless he comes back next year, but then again the company who do the gas boiler services might have changed by then as they have changed a couple of times in the last few years.  Anyway the boiler is fine, except for a couple fo things, which need fixing, lets hope they send me a letter this time to confirm an appointment, or maybe they will not

pub

It seems that people enjoyed themselves in the pub last night, which is good, I was a bit worried that entertaintment I had booked whould not go down to well, but it did and it was a succesful night, I would have liked more people there but it seems difficult to get people into the pub. I went for a walk this afternoon and got lost again but eventually found a route home.

order

My order came from ASDA today, I had cancelled one order but they both came today, I was going to send one back but could not be bothered as the price was not that much really.  The people delivering must have assumed that both were just one order, I maybe should have cancelled them both and ordered one again, oh well its done now, I am sure I can get some use of bboth trousers.

coffee

It has been bitterly cold today weather wise.  I have rang ASDA to cancel an order, originally I had ordered khaki colour trousers from there but changed my mind and ordred some black ones, I ordered the khaki ones because the black ones were not available in my size but when I looked again, they were so cancelled my first order. A couple of friends came round this afternoon, I had no coffee for them though as I rarely drink it/

fat

I went to the doctors this morning, need not have bothered really as it was not much help. I then went to Llandudno for the afternoon, the weather was better there than here, I went to Macdonalds, but I should not go there really as my waistline is getting a bit big and needs reducing a bit.

facebook again

I was given more posters today, to advertise a gig down the local pub, the performer is Aron Elias, a really good local guitarist.  Its hard to know where to put up the posters though and its not much fun asking either, as I hate rejection or anything really besides just ok, no price for doing it, all I want is 'ok'. This afternoon I went to a meeting at the local resource centre, there is a new chap there and I guess he is quite enthusistic about the place which is great, as it has been stagnant for a while now.  This new chap reckons a lot of organisations now use facebook instead of webpage, so I have been looking at ways, this afternoon on how the pengwern might use this fact to its advantage, I am quite interested in how things like facebook can reach and advertise your service or product, it seems a lot better way to get at people than just handing out fliers. On the phone this morning was a message from someone who I went o see yesterday, someone that a friend of mine th

man utd cheats

A bit of a dank day today weatherwise, been reading the papers today about the football game between Chelsea and Man Utd, and it was full of talk about some great comeback that the crappy manchester team had achieved, where all they had actually achieved was duping a dumb referee into giving them a couple of free shots at goal, two penalties which were given for nothing, just because a player was standing too close to a Chelsea player, it was daylight robbery really as far as Chelsea were concerned a I just don't understand what sort of thrill there is in cheating to get a result, its just stupid.

dentist

I bought a keyboard on ebay yesterday and paid for it today, actually I am not that enamoured by it really but I guess I have agreed to buy it, it might be ok, well I hope so anyway or I have wasted 20 quid. I have a dentist appointment on wednesday I hate going to the bloody place but I have a filling which has disintigrated and therefore  I need a new one, I thought it was a tooth that was disintigrating but it was an old filling.

FA

Saturday again, time flies these days the weekends seem come around quicker than ever.  I am not too keen on weekends but I guess I have the pub to look forward to tonight, and the weather is not too bad. I received a book on home recording through the post today, thought it would simplyfy the understanding of the process which I have been trying to understand for a long time but it does not seem to make it much simpler, maybe its a complicated subject. Today is also the day Chelsea have knocked out QPR from the FA cup, which is probably the only realistic competition they have of winning.

keyboard

I have today, got hold of an old keyboard course I got free in a national newspaper, in 2007 and have decided that I would like to do the course and learn how to play a keyboard, I have put in a bid for a second hand keyboard on ebay, which hopefully I will win and then can have something to practise on. I went to Caernarfon today to do some shopping, i don't particularly like the place but i guess it was a change from Porthmadog where I have been going quite a lot lately.  The weather has been pretty dismal up here today it was not too bad down on the coast.

facebook

It has been a pretty boring day really, I did go swimming this morning for a while and then did some shopping but have been mouching around here since coming back from swimming.  Yesterday I came a across a bit of a quirk on facebook, the quirk was regarding the fact that some people knew each other who I had no idea did actually know each other, I found this out as they were chatting on facebook.

advice

It has not been a bad day weather wise today, for a change.  Today also I found out that some advice I had given to someone had proved to be useful, they have a problem with money and need repairs done to their house so I told them to get in touch with this company and they did and someone is coming round to see them, which is good.

garden

It is a dull dank day today weather wise but I guess its dry so that is something. I have been clearing a bit in the garden today, the chappy who came to cut the hedge did not clear up after himself, so there are bits of holy bush everywhere.  I wonder if the rhubarb will appear this year, in a better state than it usually is, really skinny and of no use, I gave it a load of manure last year so hopefully it will be a bit better.

another fing cold

I have a really vile cold today, its probably the nastiest I have had for a long time, maybe the beer last night did not help, but I was not going to stay in, though, I maybe should have as it was not that a good a night really.
