cows

I went for a bit of walk today to the old golf course I go here quite often but today I took a different route I went up the road where the main entrance used to be past what is now a bunk house but used to be the club house I wanted to see how far the lake which is up there was from the road I walked passed the bunkhouse and then went up a steep slope no sign of lake I walked  a bit was about to turn back when I spotted the lake I then walked passed it and took the usual route back down the valley.

 On the way back I came across few cows on the path I was not sure how I was going to get round them I went in the another field someone else was coming the other way and was a bit wary of them they started to approach the other person I started to shoosh them away with by arms and voice thankfully this worked they trotted of the other way I got out of the field and back on the path and trotted off home myself. I know they cows are docile animals but they are big and if riled can get annoyed and awkward to deal with I suspect.  At least now I know how to get to the lake and how to get cows moving in the opposite direction to the one I want to go in.  I think the lady who the cows were annoying was quite grateful I managed to move them on my good deed for the day.

 I have subscribed to deezer today 3 months for 99p each I think which is good these streaming things give you a chanee to listen to new music and old I guess.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
