Saturday

It seems for the first time in god knows how long of paying rent I have paid too much it is not my fault the woman in the post office must have misheard me and its not possible to the screen where the card goes in sometimes.  It is not hardship I guess I will just pay less next time which is not far away as usual.

It is Saturday again I use to like Saturdays but not as much anymore I am not sure why I guess as its a struggle to find things to do which is a bit sad really I suppose. 

I see in Ireland they are voting to get abortions legally I agree with the abortion law but not in all cases especailly when there is not good reason to have an abortion besides the two people have been careless I am not too happy with the fact that woman even though its her body has complete control it seems over the desicion to have the abortion its a complecated issue and not easy to resolve but the man it basically powerless if the woman wants to have the abortion and this could impact the man's life forever as they might nto have the chance again to have a child and be a parent.  I do agree there are certain situations where abortion is necessary such as rape ane incest and things like that.  I do have first hand experience of the situation and it is very painful.

In contrast I have been reading a book where a woman describes the anguish of going through ivf so the balance of how much abortion to allow is very tricky I guess I am not sure on the laws in this country to be honest I don't think or maybe it is like that that women can have an abortion regardless of any situation which is wrong and is a bad a example in relation to taking responsibility for your actions.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
