disability

I decided to attend a display of technical equipment for people who have a disability today it was in Llandudno and it was quite interesting really I didn't find anything that would help with being able to see some kind of print better but I managed to sort out a couple of other things. I gather its possible to get a screen reader that reads Welsh at a price which is a shame as there are free ones on the net that read English but there are no free ones on the net that read Welsh.

 I have also been having problems with the buses regarding the ticket machine which is difficult to hear at times and the guy in the exhibition understood my plight and said its the fault of the old machines that they have, my problem is regarding the noise it makes when putting my pass on it sometimes the noise it difficult to hear and the light is also difficult to see.  They are going to get new machines in the future it seams but I guess we will have to struggle on for while I suggested the machines have something saying thank you might be useful a synthetic voice maybe that is the future of how it will go I don't know.  Anyway it was a day out  and a change from the usual routine.

 I was also asked if I would tweet in Welsh for some organisation and maybe I will I will see how it goes I am not that competent about writing Welsh but I guess its only tweet so its limited

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
