swimming ina pandemic

 I had a swim booked for 1.15 pm today yes you have to book them now in this pandemic which seems to be getting out of hand again here.  The bus was an hour early so I went to look for some shoes for the rainy weather which it was today. 

I got the the pool about 5 minutes early and there were people standing outside waiting to get in in theri masks.  When we were let in I had to go the reception to get card clicked or whatever they call it and then I had to got the disabled changing room which is actaully a positive regarding being disabled as everyone else has to get undressesd by the pool.

I did not know what the regime was in the pool as it all changed but was told that there would only be about 3 there which there wasn't there were a few there as I was not sure what was going on I took the option offered to me by a lady the other day and asked for a lane to my myself and it was sorted which was good I had a nice swim

When I got out I was not sure which way to go as arrows pointed only one way anyway I walked back into the changing room I am not too sure if thats what I was suppose to do later someone popped in their head to see what was going on it was a bit of a shambles really.

I then had to get out o the place which I eventully worked was by going back into the pool and going out the door at the back of the pool oh dear it all a bit of hoohaa I guess but I suppose I will know better next time if I go again.I  am hoping the swim will make me sleep better.

It is still very hard to get my head round the situation with this virus but I am trying to keep sane I guess its very hard with this imposed isolation that the restrictions we live under is imposing.. The situation is just so frustrating and tiring.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
