I decided to go and do some shopping today it was the first day where i would have to wear a mask in the ship.  I have had broken laptop for months so I took that down they claimed it won't start as it needs to close down I doubt this is the problem as it has closed down and nothing.  I took it down and had planned to leave it there but it was not the case as I had to take it home to so called close down and therefore I had to drag it round the shops with me which was a pain.


I got the next bus back and attempted to have a chat through the mask but it was no good.  I had bought some lunch and had to wait till I got home to eat it, this I did in the garden.  After I had some lunch I looked for the phone it was nowhere to be seen I rang it no sound so it meant I had lost it on the bus.  I shot out of the house to catch the bus going back down.  I was not sure if the bus had been or was coming anyway it turned up.  I got on the bus took look for it it was nowhere to be seen  I thought it must be at home then as it could not be anywhere else anyway as I was getting ready to get off the bus I heard something fall on the floor it was the phone thank fully.


After the trouble with the phone I went for swim in the river it was a cold but refreshing I did not stay long it felt kind of normal in all this bollox.  I had a chat with someone one the way home and have basically been here since.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
