pesky tourists

It has been a long and dreary day the new season is making it colder now and bit more uncomfortable at home and outside.  I guess it had to come eventually but I am not a fan of the cold which I have to put up with now for 6 months.  I jsut hope my fears are not realised and it becomes a nightmare

Last winter seemed to be hard going with the pain in the hip the cabin fever and the hastle with noisy man hole cover but it just seems that it will be a lot tougher this year with the imposed isolation of the pandemic no distraction such as the music nights I am not sure if I can go swimming yet.  There will be no card playing not much social interaction at all really.  Even in the local shop the interaction is limited due to mask wearing and and the plastic screen that is there.

I have thought about getting a plastic sheild as opposed to a mask as it might help with the steaming up of glasses but it might also be difficult for me to see through it as well so I guess I will stick with the masks for now.  I intended to go the shop this afternoon but half way there I realised I had forgotten my mask in the end I could not be bothered.

I see they are making pubs stop serving at 10 I am not that bothered about it as I just go out to socialise really so I will need to go out earlier then I suppose. it is going to be a tough few months maybe the roughest yet we shall see.  I m still thinking about applying for the council but I am not too keen on doing meeting over zoom

I was hoping that the keyboard I have ordered would arrive today but no it hasent so I guess it will be tomorrow now.  I guess I should not have lose my patience with the last laptop but it was so slow it was doing my head in.

This pandemic is making the place so quiet hopefully it might get quieter now and the tourists will fuck off they have been a pain in the ass over this pandemic first they flout the rules then they turn the place into a playground and the locals are too nervous to go out and now this stupid first minister dickford want the people of wales to think bout their while every tom dick and harry from everywhere else can come and go as they please he and the tourists can fuck off.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
