musician

Well I am still persevering with the computer music, and I think something has finally sunk in, in relation to the composition of the piece of music, in relation to the build and the telling of the story, which the teacher went on about all year long.  I understand that its necessary now to build to a point in the song and then to go back down again, telling the journey of that build, it has been quite frustrating not being able to understand it until now, I am not too sure why it was so difficult, maybe because the genre was so alien to me and I guess its not any more. I think I find the teacher a bit intimidating too, he seemed to push me quite hard, when really I am not that musically able, well I don't think so anyway, and I was glad that the summer holdays came and I am now able to get on with things in my own time.  I was probably trying too hard too, I guess I guess I have wanted to be a compitant musician for a long time have admired good musicians for a a long time  and wondered how they do what they do, I am finally getting a glimpse of how they do what they do, better late than never.

 Back to the composition of a dance track, its important that you get a good drum and base thing going that, there is a groove going on and then a chord thing happeining, and there is inteplay between these 3 elements, they compliment each other and things are used to enhance that relationship, other effects instruments and this builds up to the main riff and all that goes on with that, well I think that's what the teacher was trying to tell me anyway, I now have to wait until september to try it out in class.  Septemeber will soon be here time flies these days, even though I am not doing that much.

 Today is the draw for the qualifiying groups for the world cup in Russia, Wales have somehow managed to be a top seed, which means they will avoid the other so called top seeds, not sure it makes that much difference there are a lot of good teams in Europe, and its tough to qualify, just hope they give a good account of themselves, and at least they look like they will qualify for the Euros.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
