hassle
I went for a walk yesterday afternoon, taking one of my usual routes, and came across a gate. There was someone working on the path nearby, so I kicked the gate open like I usually do if it's stuck. The guy on the tractor mentioned it was a bit stiff, and I replied that I didn’t see the point of having the gate there since it served no purpose. He said he liked the gate or something, but I argued that it didn’t do any good. He started talking about children or something, but I think he was just being difficult. There’s a historic easement on the path, as people have walked it for years.
He pointed out the old gateposts, and I said they might have been there before the easement existed. It use to be a n old country house and maube there was no easement then and it was all private property I am not goingto dig up the place's historey But since people have been using the path for decades, it now has an easement on it. I walked on and did not close the other gate he shouted somethng at me I did not hear him so I just smiled and walked on. They are probably only there for the weekend.
My father used to drive through that path back when it was a youth hostel. The road was a bit rough, but he could manage it with a motorbike or a small car without any issues.
I understand that when people own property, they don’t like others walking through it and might try to challenge the easement. I’ve had similar problems with an easement on my property involving a neighbor, which led to a lot of trouble that still lingers today. So I can’t be too hard on people who struggle with the idea of an easement. I got a lot of bother from the guy next door regarding the easement
I want have the option of buying this place But not with that He's Montana it's just not worth it wasn't worth the hassle. I would efinatley not buy now withe the neighbours I have I guess
