eisteddfod
I recently went to see a young man perform at a local club. He has some vision issues, and while his performance was decent, there’s definitely room for improvement. His visual impairment didn’t seem to hinder him much, though the only noticeable thing was that his family had to bring him since he can’t drive.
The club wasn’t very crowded, and it looks like they’re struggling to attract people. I think they might have a hard time surviving unless they start offering food. It’s a tough time for the hospitality industry.
This week, I’ve been to the Eisteddfod twice, which is being held in Wrexham. Today is the last day, and it’s sad to see it end. I enjoyed going there on the coach, though the coach left a bit too early yesterday. At least I made it. It’s not easy living around here if you don’t drive and have uncooperative family members. My brother went on Wednesday and didn’t think to offer me a lift, and my sister is just being herself.
It’s about two hours on a coach mostly full of elderly people. I guess there’s a loo on the bus, but it’s not easy to use while the bus is moving, which is supposedly the only time you’re meant to use it. It’s a bit of a joke.
While there, I saw a few good musical acts. The main one was a band called Cordia. They were a really good girl band, a bit poppy but still enjoyable. I think we’ll hear more about them in the future.
I had such a good time on Monday that I went back on Friday and met my cousin there. I got mixed up with the days and wanted to go back to see the Cordia band again, but they were on today—I had thought it was yesterday. Oh well.
the food there was very expensive The price to go in is not cheap but you get access to everything so I guess in the end it is cheap you get to see a load of acts you guys are going free into the pavilion for a day out it's quite cheap really. I haven't been to Wrexham for many years I think the last time I was in Wrexham was for the independence March and before that I think it was for me aunties funeral It was nice to get out of the area for a few hours anyway
The journey on the coach was very very nice the coach was very comfortable and it was convenient except there was a bit of a wait for my connexion the other end on the way back the only thing I would say about the eisteddfod is that its not that acceissible if you have a disability which is the problem of moving around i guess.the eisteddfod moves around Every year
Next year it's in Pembrokeshire I don't know where it is here after that but it should be up here in the north or in the middle somewhere and maybe I can go to that and maybe things have changed or improved regarding accessibility though I don't think so
the number of people increased from Monday to Friday It's probably something to do with the weather the weather improved as the week went on The field seemed quite round yesterday as opposed to Monday where it was quite laid back and I guess a lot more pleasant to be on But it was OK there was still room to go into the venues to listen to the music unlike the one I went to a couple of years ago where the venues was just too full you just couldn't get into them
Usually would go to the eisteddfod listen to my niece thinking she has been singing at the Eisteddfod since she was very young and she's now in her 30s She has moved to Australia so she won't singing this year but wasn't singing this year It must have been strange for her not to be at the desert She has been all of them I think probably the first one she's missed for for a long time Well since they didn't have it in the pandemic anyway
