Llyfr Melyn Oerddwr

I was watching a tv programme the other day on Beddgelert and they visited a farm called Oerddwr which by now was not a farm but just empty buildings.

One of the decendents of this farm lived in this village but sadly passed away a few months ago in his possession was a book called Llyfr Melyn Oerddwr, it was a visitors book which people seem to put their thoughts in one of the visitors to Oerddwr frequeently T H Parry Williams and he put some poetry in it and people who lived there and been aroad put things in it too.  Anyway the chap who passed away recently was the custodian of the book, I knew him well, now that he has gone I am not sure what has happened to the book I just wish I had seen the programme a when it first came out and I could have seen the book in the village here I assume its gone to the national library or is in hands of another relative.

Its funny how it took a tv programme to tell me something about someone who I had know all my life really, there was more to Mr Hughes than met the eye I guess.

There is a copy in the national library and I guess I could go an read that its not really abouy wanting to read the real thing I am just interested in what is in the book. I was talking to the old shopkeeper in the village last night and he said that he had signed the book, I want to go to the library to do something regarding ancestry anyway so now I have two reasons to go down to aberystwyth.

Maybe by the time I go to Aberystwyth the real book might have arrived there, it was strange seeing someone who had recently passed away, on the telly, he looked so well I don't think the programme was filmed that long ago.
