cancer

I lost a school friend to cancer a few weeks agao its really hard to get my head round the fact he has gone, I have known him for 40 plus years, he was kind of always there, we were not close.  He has now gone forever which is what happens to us all in the end.

I have to go the doctor later the appointment is at 4.30 a shit time really as I rely on the poor public transport round here. I will have half an hour to kill before the appointment and then an hour maybe to kill after it. I did not feel like arguing with the receptionist to get another appointment as this is a rare occurrence a face to face one, but things have changed a lot since the lockdowns, public transport has got worse and the face to face consultations are not that accessible these days.

I am not surprised that there are more cars around due to way things have changed public transport going down the pan and medical appointments not being so accessible so you need a car so you can be more flexible, though they are trying to get people out of their cars and onto public transport but its going backwards.

The problem with more cars is there is less space for them to park so now they park on pavements I am sure I will wake up one day and there will be a car parked in my garden.

Eventually the cherry picker that was blocking the pavement was removed but not by the council who have been useless and ignorant in this matter since the beginning and I sent them a sarcastic email to express my displeasure with their attitude.

I have just had a guy here asking to read the meter for my electricity I do that myself now but I let him in in away and they can never see the meter as its small and its high up so I have to get them a piece of furniture to stand on. It has just dawned on me that next time I will offer them my monocular it will same them getting on a chair and me having to ring the ambulance if they fall off

It is another gloomy day but at least I am here as opposed to my poor friend who no longer is.  I really hope he not here due to the fact he had late diagnosis I don't know the details
