 It has been cold this week I don't recall it this cold for a long time the pavements have been icy the council have not put salt on them apparetnly they don't these days but I would have thought they would with all the hospitals in trouble these days oh well I guess there is not a lot of joined up thinking going on these days which itself can lead to problems  The weather is going to get milder over the weekend which means the rain is on its way its never far away these days The photo is of Moelwyn mawr which I took on a walk last Sunday the snow looks great on the mountian but crap on the road especially when it freezes I bet the view from the top is really good but I am not going to attempt it I don't think I have been once it was the day after a bit of a booze up so I don'r recall it that well I would like to go again one day

In this google docs there is an option for the size of text, one is called normal what is normal size text, it seems to only exist in google docs.  I know that most letters come in 11 or 12 point usually but some come in bigger ones the idea of normal is a bit odd There is a lot talk about strikes these days and its the only way some people can get their voice heard regarding their working conditions, but there is always an element of risk, the people who rely on those going strike can suffer There was a a very big in a house in the street where I grew up when I was very young I woke up in the middle of the night and  I remember seeing flames stretchng across the road, and hearing a bang when the windows went.  My mother and a chap from next door to the house tried to go into the fire to see if they could save the person.  The fire brigade had been rang, I heard the other day that at the time the fire brigade were on strike at the time and would send someone to the incident before send

  There was a time when most printed books were in accessible to me really, I say most as there were large print ones. I have a different level of eye vision to most people so need a different level of print. This all changed with the inventio of E readers like kindle which make most books accessible now as long as they are on kindle many books are not Kindle books are also cheaper than printed book which helps.  Many don't like kindle as they are not holding a real  book which most people grow up doing, of course I ignore this and enjoy the benefits of the kindle. There is also audible which is handy, I was having this concersation before going into the operation theatre the other week. The staff in the hospital seem really ignorant of eyesight issues which was very dissappointing, you kind of expect this kind of ignorance in normal society but not in a hospital I suppose but the hospital is part of that normal society I guess so I should not have been surprised but I was dissappo

My appointment for an EUA was cancelled again, it is now in a couple of weeks, if its not cancelled again.  I get worked up about the whole thing only to have to unwind again.  I don't only have to have the procedure I alos have to isolate for three days before hand, I have not been doing which in hindsight is a good thing I guess. I will not isolate this time either as I could be wasting my time again. I am not too sure why I have to have this test and why they can't just give me a test on the day, maybe its because I am going on the ward, but if they are only going to cancel again then there is no point. The interface on this blog thing is shit it hard to get writing down on it, but I don't know of any other free blogging thing on the internet. I did an anxiety management thing today a lot of the stuff I had heard before many times but due to the situation I am it its probably not a bad idea to listen to some of the stuff and I don't have to leave home as its on teams

I watched a program last night about people who wanted to move to Wales, it was based on the english version ones but it was in Welsh.  This one was based on this area and featured people who I knew and ones that I did not.  There was a lady who had learnt Welsh in very short time fair play to her, I think she came from Blackpool and had even joined cymdeithas yr iaith the society which protects the language.  I guess what the program showed me is the fact that people move here the area is changing and will change and its not the place I grew up in anymore nothing stays the same the world moves on even if I am not happy with the pace it is going it will go at the paec it wants to and you have to keep up I guess, if you don't you will be left behind The main point of the program was regarding the Welsh language and culture and how it will change, it has to thrive or it will get left behind, the language and culture will be here a long time after me which I guess is a comfort I guess

The local community pub is getting a facelift,  It has been a community pub for 11 years but its always been a pub hotel.  The work for the facelift is going very slowly it will be good when finished though.  The building is listed so you can't just do anything to it, it has to keep its original look. To do the facelift a grant was obtained from CADW which is the body that looks after old buildings in Wales.   The work involved repointing the front and rendering it, but keeping it looking near to how it always was.  The pub is 300 years old in 4 years time and obviously did not have any double glazing which is important to have in this day and age but this CADW set up won't allow it to be put in, which is a bit mad as this is a business and with the price of utilities going up its important to have things in place to reduce the cost, its a bit silly for CADW to try to maintain the building as it was originally in a modern world its going against the grain Keeping the original w

I have never seen anything like, everytime I switch on the tv or the radio its just more bollox about the old bag who just died.  She was old she was going to die its what happens its no excuse to turn the thing into a circus They are closing things on the day of the burying and cancelling things its absolutely ridiculous the whole thing is just too much and not really very healthy ramming this shit down people's throats day in day out its state propoganda like you would see in Russia and north korea its all very depressing really At least the local shop is staying open on monday and playing along with the madness of it the whole thing.   The pandemic has really wrecked the public transport around Gwynedd.  The service I use a lot run by Gwynedd council is the route from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog.  All my life there has been an hourly bus between the two towns, many go shopping to Porthmadog from Blaenau and many go to work there too. When the pandemic struck the service was reduced due to the lockdown but fairplay to Arriva Cymru there was a still a service going if only twice a day, this service was important due to the shopping in this village is not very good.   It was not possible to go further afield due to the other services not being available so, Blaenau to Porthmadog was the only route open to me at that.  Eventually, probably due to the lack of use of the buses during the lockdown Arriva Wales gave up on the route and new company came in Lloyds of Machynelleth, who have been running what I| call the lockdown service ever since, its skeleton service really, a bus every hour and half in the morning and

  Swimming is very important to me, it helps with release of stress and loosens me up a bit when I get too tense.  It is now nice to be able to get back to swimming after the dreadful two years of being locked away in our houses. The problem I have with swimming is that it hard to find suitable times to go, I am reluctant to go to the ordinary swimming session as I have limited vision so would feel a bit anxious about bumping into people.  There is a way round this and that is to ask for a lane rope to be put in the pool as part of the reasonable adjustments that places have to make in relaton to disability.  This is part of 2010 Equality Act. The term reasonable adjustments is very vague though, who determins what is reasonable and what is not and the hastle of it sometimes can make it harder for disabled people and may come over to some as them being demanding. I know the amount of varied disabilities makes it harder for places to have to make adjustments

 I have been thinking of getting a corgi dog apparently they have become more popular, the  recently according to a bit on the radio, the chap speaking about it got his corgi locally, they are not cheap to buy.  The garden I have is not that secure either they might bugger off.  Listening to the chap on the radio they seem to be enegetic dogs which might be a bit too much for me, I shall see how it goes. I did some shopping today and will have to do more tomorrow as there is a load of bank holdiays which affects the bus service, though its shit most of the time these days. The health service here seems to be broken, my pain is better these days it maybe ue to trying to relax the area I hope it is anyway

 It is going to be a strange week this week with these funny bank holidays at the end of it, its usually on Monday this time of year but its on thursday this year.  I went to the builders today to find some stuff to fill the hole in the area by the harth.  This hole has been a pain in the ass since I moved it I eventually hid it under a carpet but now that I am getting a new carpet I can't do that especially now it has started to break up over the years, it neeeds fixing.  know nothing about diy reallly and it should be the housing people who fix it but I have no time to arrange for them to do it as the carpet is coming next week. At the builders I did not know what to get but I eventually bought some stuff which will do the job and hopefully the hole will get filled once and for all'.  I got the carpet up this weekend which I had not planned to do but its ok I guess its done now, the carpet is quite brittle so I will get rid of it bit by bit in the bin.   I had a 'bright' idea a while ago to organise a whist drive mainly to ee if I could see the cards better with these 'new' glasses I was given a few months ago.  These glasses are causing me some grief, my eyes are sore in the morning and sometimes they make focusing difficult. I don't understand why an optician would give out the wrong spccs after all they are suppose to have tested me for the right lenses' These glasses do change my vision in certain ways though, I seem to see things further away, and that is why I thought I would organise a whist drive. I also thought it would help with getting people to socialise again after the dreadful two years people have had of not being able to socialise. I asked a friend to help me with the whist night she said she would bring the cards and a raffle prize.  I don't understand why this war is taking place why a country like Russia would invade its neighbour without any provocation it does not make sense and is madness.   It has been going for a couple of months now and there does not seem to be an end. I have started to watch CNN on the tv which has internet tv on it and the coverage seems a lot more in depth on there than on the usual BBC it is winding me up more anyway I feel like it would like to see Russia bombed to bits for this action of unprovoked aggression by a stupid old man. We have just well we are in a pandmic but this silly cunt thinks its a good idea to start a  war for no apparent reason than his bit of insecurity.  Maybe I have too much time to look at it, my life is not exactly a hive of activity these days I guess so I have time to meditate on this shit story there is not a lot if any good in the world right now. I have messed up again I bought an useless ipad that I can't do anything with a cheapy thing off ebay and thats why its cheap its useless. I don't think they will accept it back and I am not too sure I can be bothered to go through the hastle I suppose. I should have done some research and now I am still without an e reader except the pc I wasted a whole day waiting for rubbish and it was such a nice day that I could have gone somewhere I guess. The nice weather does not last too long round here at this time of year it will probably be raining tomorrow knowing my luck I am thinking of buying a proper ipad they are quite good in relation to performance or I could go to the shop like I should have done in the first place to get a recondtioned tablet I did spend time with the recorder today the sound from the mic I used is ok on the  recording I will have work out what the best position for the mic is it will involve a bit of moving folk around.  It has been a pretty damp day today no sign of the sun that was forecast anyway. I guess its not too cold for this time of year It was a week ago I had a positive test to the covid thing I am not too sure if I did it right but I aired on the caushes side just in case I did have it I was not ill really maybe it was due to the vaccines who knows I guess I have anitbodies not if I did have it and I should not really be having to wear a mask in relation to covid anyway and I did not wear one on the bus I heard that a sworn enemy has had some bad news recently I hope the sitution does not deteriorate but I am glad the scum is suffering a bit to be honest  I got some bird seed yesterday and its expensive for what it is I will not ordr ti from there again . I am still ordering bird seed, maybe I thought I coud stop over the summer

The weather was a bit colder today but at least its drier than it has been and there was blue sky which was nice change from the grey sky. i got a delivery today a new tablet due to some shit I have recently got this one looks better but we shall seea I have managed to put the big telly on the shelf today which will make more room in the room the telly was filling the room really now not so much. I can probably move the room around a bit now a change is as good as a rest I  guess  We now have more restrictions in place which will make very lilttle difference in the end in relation to the virus
