**Shifting Seasons, Old Friends, and New Frustrations**
The weather’s taken a gentler turn lately—less biting cold, less soggy drizzle. I went for a swim yesterday. The pool was eerily empty, the usual crowd off on holiday. Peaceful, sure, but it means next week I’ll have to rethink how to get down there. That bus... let’s just say it’s not winning any awards for reliability.
I’ve been diving into some new music software—Sonar, now free to download. Sounds like a good deal, right? Except the commands I’m used to in Studio One don’t translate over, and the YouTube guides are more haze than help. I keep fumbling through trying to do the simplest things—bit maddening, honestly.
Over on Facebook, I’ve been catching up with people from my college days through an old 1980s group. It's strange—and a bit unsettling—how many have passed away. More than you’d expect for a group our age. The college was a specialist one for people with sight problems, but a lot of us faced other health challenges too. Each loss hits harder somehow. The reunion in August might carry a heavier tone than we’d like. I just hope I’m around to be there.
On a brighter note, I gave the Google screen reader a whirl recently. It’s not bad—especially for something that’s free. But really, isn’t it time someone built one in Welsh? The screen reader does give me a break from staring at messy websites. Some of them are a nightmare to navigate—like they were designed by people who’ve never had to use a keyboard in their life.
