memory failure

I decided to go for a swim and a sauna today, I find the sauna quite relaxing, but when I got to the sports centre and went to the changing room I was not relaxed, I had forgotten to bring a towel, so what do I do, go back out and get my money back or carry on, I could not be bothered to go and get my money back as it would have involved I paid by card, so I guess stupidly, some would say I carried on, but with the intention of not getting too wet, so I went to the sauna which of course has dry heat in it, and therefore I would not get too wet, if at all, In the sauna I came across a towel, I thought to myself I would borrow that, for some reason there are a lot of clothes left in that sauna, I guess, its used as a drying room.  Its not a great sauna really, the door does not close properly  so the heat escapes, I guess in winter the sauna is not warm at all.  

 I then went to the steam room and got pretty wet, but I guess I had a towel at this point, so I was ok, it wasn't mine but all I would do was borrow it really.  After some time in the sauna and steam room I went out to for a swim and then went for a shower and took the towel with me.  

 I decided to give the towel back after I had finished and pop it in through the other door of the sauna, but after doing this I could not get out of the same door, so had to go out of the door which lead to the swimming pool, it was a bit of a nightmare this morning really, I guess my memory is not working too good these days, i guess I am getting older so its more fallible, its funny how things you take for granted just get worse as you get older start detiriorating, they are not so reliable any more, which is sad rally but that's how it goes I guess. I guess I was lucky this morning I took a chance and it was ok, I will have to be more careful next time.

 The rest of the day has been pretty dull and boring as usual, not sure I can handle much more of this, its so hard to find something to do around here, I miss the college too, and nothing looks like coming of the cricket, I know I was naive and its going to be tough, but maybe too tough that people won't bother.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
