motown

 I grew up liking motown musicm I first became aware of it when there was an advert on the tv in the 1970s for  a compilation called the Big Wheels of Motown I was hooked I had never heard anything like it before since then I have listened to many many Motown tracks I am sure you can name few, The stars of motown were all over in the united states though and the chances of seeing meeting them or seeing them live were very few and far between, I have seen a few motown artists in my life and even met one of the members of the 4 tops when watching them in a club called the town and country club in kentish town in London I even have the autographed photo to prove to it.

I grew up in Llan and the interest in motown was strong in my generation, many use to go off to the northern soul clubs in England, much of the motown output was put out in the nothern soul beat, someone once told me, Llan was about the soul, Blaenau was about the rock music. I think the generations of soul enthusiasts have passed the appreciation of motown down to their children, this has become even more obvious lately through a young lady who is interested in motown and who released a track about 3 years with motown vibe to it,, so motown has finally landed in here in this area.  hopefully there is more from her
