smacking ban

I see that they have banned smacking kids in Scotland which is a good thing they should ban it everywhere.  The ban is a kind of acknowledgement that it is wrong to hit kids not that its needed we know its wrong, but the ban sort of brings it out in the open and it can be talked about and hopefully people can be educated about more humain ways of dealing with childre.  

Beating children damages them physically and mentally it makes them afraid it also brutalises them and can cause life long problems its basically abuse.

They say that smacking is not abuse but its the fact that the line has been crossed and undisciplined adults the irony of it, will not stop at just a small smack and it can lead to abuse which the child can do nothing about well if they can't now at least someone else can now which may save a life or not ruin a life.

I think it might be happening Wales soon thankfully.  I was beaten by both parents I could not defend myself as I was a child but I was a bit more vulnerable than most kids as I could not see the blows or what was thrown me coming my brother could see them coming and sort of move out of the way a bit I guess though why he had to I   don't know. 

Parents will still abuse kids mentally which is the sad thing and it will traumatise other kids to see this happening as much as the beating traumatised them.

Children need to be disciplined I understand that for their own good but I have seen more effective ways such as changing the tone of the voice which is  good method as you can't cross a line and change it even more I guess.  

If hitting kids was a way of disciplining why was it only boys that were usually hit if it was a disciplining then girls should have been hit too.
