For the second time in two days I have missed buses because they have gone early a bus that goes early is useless you have a chance with a late one but an early one is no good to anyone.  

 In the end it did not matter as I managed to do what I wanted catching the later bus I wanted to pick something up from the chemist I managed to get what I wanted and came across moody miss too (long story) and catch the same bus back again though I did not come back home I went to the next town to get some shopping.

 Its a very cold but at the moment dry day which is good as it has been raining here for such a long time it seems not hint of a period of dry weather but hopefully it will be dry for the fireworks..

 This year is flying by and next week is the village fair then its straight through to chrismas its good there is an election to distract me from the wretched xmas I am not too keen on my party the party of wales not putting candidates out in every plaee where an  Mp can be elected

 This morning I talked to the RNIB about permitted work as there is a chance of few hours work before xmas as this compnay wants to sort the bus pass thing out.  I am a bit apprehensive about this as it can lead to problems rocking the boat with benefits but I am sick of being in the benefit trap I shall see how it goes. Today also \I got this laptop its been in the shop for ages  and its been a problem of my own making I guess well it was. Anyway its ok for now we shall see how it goes. I probably need a new computer at some point thoguh.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
