reunon

There are a few people on facebook trying to organise a reunion for the college which I was at in the 1980s the Royal National College for the Blind as far as I can see it is not going to be held in the college which I think is a shame but it will be nice to see people I have not seen for a long time.  It only feels like yesterday when I was there well I guess it was as I have been there 3 times in my life really I like going back there as it the place where I spent my happiest times had plenty to do and was looked after and had young lady to keep me company well it was to argue with really as it was quite a volatile relationship we had.  The last I hear about here she had had an accident maybe I will find out more if I go to the reunion.  It not going to be a cheap weekend and travelling to Hereford takes a while I will need to get some accommodation for two nights not worth the bother just for one night I guess.  The event is being held in pub in Hereford which I had never heard of and from the pics I haven't really seen before either it must be a new place I guess it does not matter as its the people I am going to see not the place.  

 This reunion is giving me something to look forward to which is something I have been lacking for a while and hopefully my health will not deprive me of this opportunity its bad when your own body becomes your worst enemy.  I am hoping I will have gained more understanding and control of this vile affliction by the time its time to go to Hereford.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
