coffee

I really couldn't get to sleep last night and was really perplexed why not kept waking up every hour. In the end I got up much earlier than usual and was puzzled why I couldn't sleep then it dawned, erm on me not the day that I had bought a new jar of what I thought was decaffeinated coffee yesterday.  I went to check the jar thinking I had maybe made a mistake and had bought the proper one, when I looked I had brought the proper one and it would explain why I had not slept as I drank the coffee last nigh thinking it was decaff.  

 The decaff these days taste quite similar to the normal stuff I am not sure if that means the quality of the proper one has deteriorated or that the quality of the decaff had improved anyway I will have to be more careful next time when buying coffee if I don't want to be spending all night tossing and turning and listen to shit night time radio for hours on end.  I guess these issues will arrive as I have not got good eyesight

I rang a friend today on whatapp thinking he was at home in London but no he is in India I have spoken to a few people in far flung places on WhatsApp and the quality is not too bad really I have spoken to folk in Australia and Cyprus and now India, apparently its very hot in India today which is perplexing as its so shit here well I guess its not that bad but apparently its going to get colder.

I have recently joined a group on facebook of old students from college all these people from my past are coming out of the wood work and triggering great memories from the past its very nice

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
