moving

 I see they are building new houses on the outskirts of the village on a bit of land that was empty for years, they will be new modern houses made of timber frame and will be la lot cheaper to keep warm in winter and will therefore have lower bills which are going up and up, they are being built by a housing association. I currently rent a house from a housing association, but its dump a damp dump and water has been coming in all winter, so I am hoping that some of these houses are for rent and maybe I could apply for one, I have many reasons I would like to move and a few why I would not, the garden is ok here is probaby the main reason to stay otherwise there isent a reason really, I have sent an email and will keep my fingers crossed, there is a risk in moving, I could end up with shit neighbours, I do have a shit neighbour one side already and the others are nice when I| see them I guess.

From what I can see the houses are semi detached, if I get one it will mean I will not have to leave the village to move, properties are very limited in this village there are empty properties but they are in a bad state, holiday homes or are air bnbs. I gguess a change would nice too, I have lived in this 'hovel' for twenty years this year I had no intention of doing that I have been meaning to move away but never managed it for some reason, the time has clown by.

Moving would get me away futher away fromt the unsavoury characters presence sometimes accross the road too I guess

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
