bread

I went for a swim today, but the pool was a bit packed for a change, which made it a bit difficult to swim freely. I had not seen it that busy there at that time for many years which is good, but just makes it difficult for me sometimes. This afternoon, I got a knock on the door by someone from the housing company, saying they had come to knock on the door so I knew that they were there, which was a bit wrong in my eyes, they had a duty to come and tell me as I live there and they should ask me if it is ok for them to do something, they are ignorant, I will complain if they do it again. I had another go at making bread and it was a disaster again, it was doughy and it did not rise.  I feel like giving up

no progress

Basically, a really horrible day, weather is shit, and no one turned up to do anything.  I got a letter on Friday saying that the noisy manhole was going to be fixed but no one turned up, even though people had cleared the street for them, you really can't rely on people these days.  Also the people who said that they were going to fix the roof did not turn up, I guess I can understand them, its not a good day to be going up on the roof, even mine. I guess I will have to put up with the cuhdunk noise again for another day or so, its horrible

what are we going to do?

Mixdown.mp3 I had a go today at recording again, its not easy to do with the computer.  The song, which is an attachment here is about the fact that pubs are closing down all the time, I am not sure if its a decent recording but I guess its not too bad for a first attempt, I have been thinking about going on a course to learn, but I am not sure whether that's a good idea, I just want to learn how to record a decent track really and not much else. Sundays can be a bit boring, so it was good I had something to do today

computer

I slept back in the bedroom last night, thought the beer I drank would help block out the racket the manhole makes, and I think it did. All the snow seems to have gone, I am not sure which I prefer the rain or the snow, the rain is depressing really but the rain is warmer I guess, anyway I have to take what is given. I hit the computer today, as it can be frustrating at times, when it does not do what I want it to do, it went off but it came back on again, I was hoping I had not broken it.

manhole

I got a letter this morning, from a building company, saying they will be fixing the noisy manhole, I have had to put up with for the last few weeks.  They will be fixing it on Monday, so I have only another few days of the noisy thing, though I have not heard it today, as I have been out all day and there does not seem to be that much traffic around.  I was a bit worried, that I would have to wait a a longer for it to be fixed but I won't which is good news and I can move back into the bedroom from the living room.  I have taken a picture of the mess that is the manhole and will take another one of it when it's fixed.  I was a bit surprised that it was only a few people around here who were hearing it, but maybe its because the acoustics in this place is different, I don't want to go through that again.  Though according to a neighbour, I might, as it breaks now and then, but hopefully they will fix it properly this time. This morning, I watched the tennis and Andy Murrey

monday

I think the clanking metal cover in the road puts me on edge now, and it made it difficult to relax in bed last night.  I told someone about it and they have phoned up saying that I am finding it a bit difficult to deal with it.  The problem is, it might not be the council's thingy, and then some other company will have to sort it, and god knows how long that will take.

egg

Another day of clanking metal cover in the middle of the road outside the house here.  i have rang up the council twice, but its still going on, I do not have much faith in this council and I guess, the damned thing be making a racket for a while yet, unless I do something drastic, like smash the damned thing up. I have had another go at recording some stuff today, but I have forgotten how to go about it really I am having difficulty with the overdubbing bit.  I have not been out yet today, not sure if I will bother either, though a bit of fresh air might do me some good, though it seems the snow is back again, and its the small stuff, there is a saying in Welsh 'Eira man eira mawr' which means if the snow flakes are small in size then there is likey to be a lot of snow, but if the flakes are big, it won't stick and won't last, I don't if this saying is right or not, but its useful to throw into a conversation.  To be honest I am sick of the sight of the stuff reall

snow

Well no more snow came down today anyway, but a lot of the shops in Porthmadog were shut, maybe they thought it would get worse.  I saw a programme tonight on how bad it was in 1963, it was horrendous, even the sea was frozen over.  One good thing about the so called bad weather is that there is less traffic on the road so the metal cover is not banging so much due to not so many cars being around. I have been advised to smash the thing, but not sure about that as I don't have a hammer big enough, and not sure if could do it. The stupid council, if it is theirs don't seem to be a hurry to get it sorted out, awkward bastards.  I have had to move rooms but it still does not make much difference, I have also bought earplugs which I don't like as I am not too keen on putting things in my ears.

walk

That poxy manhole is still making a racket, and it seems some of the other people living round here as fed up of it too, the council has still not done anything, I will have to ring them again probably. I went for walk round the Great Orme in Llandudno today, it was very cold but it was a pleasant walk, it passed the day.  I had walked some of this walk before I did it all today.  The group I go with is for people who have an eyesight problem, but it has volunteers too, and it seems there are more volunteers than there are people with eyesight worries, I guess it makes it more of an occasion.

bread

So I have found out the the clunky manhole is a bit loose, so I will report it tomorrow, to the council. I have spent the day mainly listening to sport and hoping it does not snow too much, it looks like its not going to do too much actually.  I guess some people like the stuff but I don't, This evening made a loaf of bread and it was a bi too doughy in the middle, looking up the problem on the internet, it is caused by not cooking it long enough, or the temperature is not high enough, I will have another go one of these days, it is edible, if I make toast with it and its tastier than the shop stuff, but I am on a journey and I aim to get a loaf right one of these days. There is a page on facebook now about the happy memories people have of living in this village, its very sentimental, and to be honest I don't have that many happy memories of living here, maybe I would have more if I wasn't here

stress

I got up late this morning, after a stressful night at the pub.  When I wake up in the morning, there is a big bang when a car goes over a manhole, its a bit annoying. I went out this afternoon, it was very cold, so I made a bit of retreat back home, I wasn't out very long.  This evening I fell asleep in the chair, I guess it is all the stress from last night.

jam

Had a bit of a jamming session today up in Blaenau, it was pretty good, there were quite a lot of people there and I think they enjoyed themselves.  Its a bit harder these days to jam due to this racket in my ears, I don't really believe I have caused this

blackout

Today has been hard going really had a bit of a rude awakening this morning, a manhole cover outside seems to be making a right racket now and then, when some car goes over it, sometimes its not so bad, but other times there is a bit of a bang.  I guess I should ring the council, but I am not sure if its banging as because the guy over the road's van has been permanently parked there for a week or so.  I will see what happens when he moves the van. I made a visit to Pwllheli, which is usually really busy, but today it was the quietest I have ever seen it, I guess its to do with it being after xmas.  It was a lot easier to get around today, the pavements are quite narrow there and when its a bit busy its quite awkward to move around, well I find it so anyway. There were a couple of blackouts today, I am not sure whet caused them, but the kids in the street thought it was exciting anyway, to see the lights go out.

job

I decided to go for a swim today, to the leisure center in Porthmadog, I get it free on a Wednesday. I had not been swimming for a lot a time, my membership had lapsed since September.  Its cheaper to go swimming if you pay for membership.  Anyway I got to the swimming pool and realised I had forgotten my goggles, so I would be suffering with sore eyes after a bit, and I did.   Before going swimming I had decided to have my trunks on ready, and I would take some underware with me in the bag, but just like my goggles I forgot those too, not my day really, i blamed on the fact that I was in a rush to catch the bus due to having had 2 phone calls, one regarding trying to find some work and the other regarding going for a walk next week with a group. In relation to getting some work, well this is going to be difficult as this area is not too good in relation to that, and I'm getting on a bit now, I hate being 50.

online shopping

So this is the first post of the new year, I am glad the other one has gone I was getting a bit sick of hearing twenty twelve to be honest.  Well its a really dank and miserable day here again weather wise, which is depressing, and my mood was not improved due to the fact I got the wrong fucking ink through the post, I have wasted twelve quid, I am not sending it back, I really can't be bothered too much fucking hastle really.  This online shopping can be a bit of a pain in the ass at times I guess
