goodbank

Its Monday and its another day of this thing where everything is closed down at least today I had a trip out to do some work in the foodbank to which I took the bus.

The foodbank has changed it seems that everyone who wants to can come to the foodbank to get some food I am not sure how that is sustainable but of course we need to feed people who need it but the fact that the foodbank is a charity means the service is finite and it will run out of food quickly.  The church doanates the food to the foodbank but it can't keep on giving indefinitely.

From what I saw today the foodbank has changed for good it can't go back to way it operated before and it has to be resourced in another way not by donatons from the church only as obviously the population of churches is not big anyway.

I am just going to go there and just do my bit realy and let the people who have been running it work it out. I don't have to go for a week now I walked home but that won't be possible if it rains I guess we shall see how it goes.

The peace and quiet is giving rise to the odd loud thump by the manhole cover I really  hope the new one works or I have no idea what to do next I guess its just best to wait and see.

I am not too sure how much of this regime I can cope with before it starts to drive me doolaly  its going to tough.  There is going to be a lot of fucked off people as the weeks go by

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
