manhole

It was nice to wake up to an empty street no cars around due to the fact I had reported a noisy manhole cover a few weeks all you could see outside was the traffic cones that had been put there to stop the cars from parking one or two had flouted the request of course are per usual.

It was pouring down with rain and still is pouring down really and it was a horrible day to do the job of working in the manhole and for a while this morning I thought they had gone home as it was so bad but they have been at it a while now and will finish soon I guess until the next time which will be in a couple of years I guess I wish they would do it properly once and for all I think its only me it bothers mainly due to the place where I sleep. I do feel a bit guilty due to the fact no one else does anything about it but it is a nuisance and I am surprised as its only me it bothers as my hearting is going.

One good thing about the manhole being sorted out was that the delivery van with my new chair could park outside the house with no trouble.  I managed to put the chair together quite easily I am a bit worried that if I lose something on it it will stain it as the material is chord oh well I am hoping this chair helps with the hip problem I have.

About health problems I have had wind etc for a while now I did think it was food supplements but now I am not too sure if it was supplements it would have been out of my body by now I would have thought

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
