It is very nice to have some september sun to dry out the place a bit until the next deluge comes along which I guess is not far away.  I really don't like the fact that is rains so much here.  I went for a short walk today round a lake nearby and the ground was sodden due to all the rain we have had recently.

I really hope the drama with the mobile phone is over now and the the money I asked for back is in the account tomorrow or the day after I will not go near the shop again and I am not too sure whether to advise others of the fact its shit like someone said its surprising they are still open but I doubt it will be for long it is the worse customer experienee I have ever had.

I have contacted a tv channel about friend who spends a lot of time on a bike I think he deserves some publicity about his adventures, I wish I could go on the open road but I guess I would nto get too far unless I was on a tandom or something like that.

I am trying to learn some french on here it is surprising how much I remember from school but maybe not as I did spend a lot of time doing it with the private lessons I am using Duolingo its a bit boring at times as it repetative there is a get out thing but it seems you have to get them all right before that happens.  I am really surprised I do remember so much from over 40 years ago and hopefully it will help me get on quicker and hopefully I can use what i have learnt in france one day soon.

It amazing how you can just sit here and learn an language it seems for free though maybe I might have to pay something the further along I get. I came across a young man the other day who had taught himself welsh via the internet and had taught himself how to write welsh poetry too I maybe should tell the tv channel that too he is a vey inspiring young man I reckon and obviously very intellengent.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
