I had a strange interaction on the phone with the doctor's receptionist today. I wanted a routine appointment which I assumed to mean sometime in a week or so but she offered me one today with a nurse I have seen a nurse about the probem before and I still the problem so I thought I would see a doctor about it this time.

I turned down today's appointment and she offered me one in 3 weeks which I couldn't do she got stroppy and suggested I give her the time I could make it, so I just asked for the next availiable appointment with doctor after that one she gave me early july wihc is ok as if I haven't got on top of this by then I will go the surgery.  I am trying all kinds of things to get rid of it but not having much luck its a blocked sinus problem which is uncomfortable in my eyes its horrible. I am probably allergic to something the antibiotics I got last time did help but I guess I can't keep on taking them or maybe I am wrong I am not too sure.

It is not raining today anyway for a change the summer is a big washout so far.  I am not too sure what to do with myself today I am not sure I want to go on the bus to the next town again today it can get a bit repetative.  

I am listening to a lot Motown at the moment its really surprising the output from that studio seem to be thousands of tracks recorded, I first heard it when I was about 15 when an collection was adcvertised on tv I had never heard anything like it before.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
