It is very sad round here these days so many young people passing away I am going to a funeral tomorrow of a young man who grew up next door to me he to me was part of the fabric of this village he had  'always' been here kind of thing, I will miss him. It is very sad for the family as his brother died young too,

I have also heard today that someone else younger than me has passed away I did not know her that well but it is still very sad.  I know of a couple of others who are younger than me and not very well at all.  I doubt they have gotten any sort of grip on this cancer thing at all it seems to be getting worse someone reckoned its because people are not dying of other things I am not too sure of that I know we have to die of something but these people are too young in my eyes but I guess in relation to history they are not that young.

I am feeling my age these days with this arthritis thing its not as bad as yesterday but I am still in discomfort and I am down for rhumatology appointment next monthish appararently which is good but i hope this thing has gone by then as they have said it has a duration I really hope so.

I am in the house this morning waiting for the gas man to have a look at the boiler.  He has another half an hour toturn up then I am gone.  I was not amused with the last one who came with his camera.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
