crisp

I decided to go to Llandudno today to pick up the tickets that I booked to see the Manic street preachers next May I had to go and pick them up aas it would have cost me 6 quid to have them posted to me. I wanted to go on the train but Arriva trains Wales did not have enough stock to put on the line today I am not sure how long this is going to go on for but I assume that this has something do to with the fact that they are not running the service from next year onwards so they are slowly withdrawing from from the service and we can expect the quality of the the arrangement to detiorate from here on in until the new people who will be running the line to take over. 

No train so I had to go on a wretched distressed motors bus which is not the most comfortable way to go to Llandudno.  I got there about ll am or so and went to theatre to pick up the tickets only to find out they had been posted out.  I told them I had not seen the tickets the woman behind the counter told me if I had not received by Tuesday I will need to ring them up again.  I was not charged for them sending them out but I hope they will end up here at some point there is no hurry obviously as they are not appearing until May.  I am assuming if I had not asked to keep them in box office and to post them they wouldn't have..

I went in to Oak furniture shop today its new there as it was the AStaples shop that was there before. I really need a new chest of drawrs as the I have is falling apart. I could also do with a book case.

It has been a lovely late autumn day today with bright blue skies and a lots of sun and very crisp and fresh just the stuff to kill the germs.  On the way home from Llandudno we had luxury coaches which was nice but it was late getting into Blaenau and so I haug about for a bil longer there which was no hardship on such a lovely day I guess,

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
