new guitar

Well I am very happy with the guitar I bought the other day, which came through the post, It is a bit risky buying a guitar from the Internet as, basically I haven't tried it out, I am buying blind kind of thing, I did see it on youtube and I have been looking for a dreadnought for a long time, and it seemed to be recommended by the guy who was playing it, but he wasn't a salesman.  Anyway luckily is has worked out ok. It is a lot easier to play than the last one I bought, which was also done through the net, I live in place where guitar shops are very few and far between.  I was hoping if I threw a few more quid at the problem it would be better and it has proved to bed that way.  The action is great, this one also seemed to have a fast attack, it hit the tone very quickly this was pointed out to me by a friend I had never thought of looking for a guitar in relation to the attack, so I have recently learn ed something new, I think it must be something to do with wood, this is a lot more solid than the other guitars I have purchased in the past.

 I think the strings on this guitar are a bit thicker than the ones I usually use, but I guess I can change them soon enough. I have  few sets of strings lying around.  I have noticed that while playing it in the pub I don't seem to be able to hear it as loud as the other one, its not as big I guess.  I am as lot more careful with this new guitar I hate knocking it was not so bothered in relation to the others, I guess it reflects the price I paid for it.

 I went to the costa coffee today and had a latte thing or whatever you call it, I can't believe that cup of coffee cost so much as it does, I did enjoy it though which I guess is the main thing  I was able to drink it outside today as the rain has stopped for the time being.

 This is just an update on the blog post called 'sport' which I wrote on the 26th November last year. I was wrong regarding having to go to a tribuneral, the appeal was passed in my favour so my quarrel with the Dwp is over

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
