Cyrff - Cymru Lloegr A Llanrwst --- can dda









I only came across this song this morning, it was being played on Radio Wales which was about Cerys Mathews going on a journey along the A470.  I am sure it was recorded,  the programme I mean.  I remember the Cyrff, but at the time I had some snobby attitude to Welsh music and would refuse or not bother going to watch any Welsh acts, well after hearing this song I now regret going to see them.  I am srue I had plenty of opportunity as these bands were playing round here all the time.  I thin this is a really fun song and would have been great to jump around to live, which will not happen now I guess as the band have long since disbanded, they were together in the late 80's I think, maybe into the 90's.  There was another band which was as big as them on the Welsh pop seen at the time, which called this Anrhrefn.



This songs reminds of the 80s style late punk era and is pretty catchy I think.  I think am now a bit more broad minded in relation to Welsh pop music, long may it go on.  There is in this song the one thing I did find irritating about Welsh pop music and its that 'yeah man' thing, it makes it sound like they are singing a song with Welsh words but it has an English feeling, I called it rwbdi rwbdi music
It is probably something to do with the fact that maybe Rock music only sounds good when sang in Englsish I am not too sure about this.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
