I am still attending the computer course, I have finished most of it but I have some stuff to finish off, stuff which I should have done right at the beginning really, its pretty boring mundane stuff, but I am plodding my way through it, I have no idea whether what I have learnt will be of use to me, whether I will ever get the chance to use it besides just for myself here at home, it would be nice. I was able to help someone today who has been on the course with me, which was nice, a lot of the time I can be quite impatient in a situation involving this person, which is a not a good reflection on me really. 

I have decided to try and get my old telly fixed, as it seems that the problem was not with the telly but with something else as the new telly I have seems to be playing up too.  It depends how much it costs really before I decide to fix it, I will then have 2 tv's maybe I can give one away or something or just keep it as a spare, I will see, it depends how much it costs to fix the broken on first.  As regards fixing the tvi it seems that its not such an involved thing really, the screen can be changed quite easily, like I say it depends on how much it cost, i have been spending too much money as it is lately. 

Last year I went to see an optician and she said she would get me some glasses, I still haven't seen them, I rang her up to see if they are on their way, she said she would let me know when they had arrived, these glasses are speicialised so need to be ordered through the hospital.

Well I achieved something last night, which I thought was going to be beyond me, I guess to a lot of people what I achieved, was pretty trivial, but I guess we all see things different;ly, what I achieved was to get over 170 score in a whist drive.  Last night was the first time I had ever done it, had a few scores in the 160's but not in the 170's which I see as the holy grail of scores to get as you will probably win then, which in fact I didn't last night, someone scored more than me, by 1 point.  I was not that bothered about that, all I was concerned about was getting a score above 170, I have been going to whist for years off and on and was never, until last night able to get the magic score, I am surprised I got the score last night as I had a bad headache all evening, I guess it was the luck of the cards that got me through. I thought I would never get the score, as I don't see very well, and struggle to make out the cards sometimes which is a bit of a strain,

great war

I went to an exhibition today, which was about the first world war, it mainly seemed to be full of photos of men from my home village who had fallen in the great war, they were all young obviously not ravaged by time.  It was a bit sad to think that so many young men from the place where I grew up were killed, it had their names and the names of where they lived, the names of houses and streets are the same today Sometimes you feel the outside world does not affect what happens here, but I guess it must do as it dragged a load of the young men here into the conflict which was going on at that time, I am not sure I agree with them going to fight, but that is neither here nor there, the fact is they did and that was what was going on at that time. My grandfather was in the first world war, but he was lucky enough to survive, even though he did leave his calf muscle over there in wherever he was, it must have been hell for him really and I guess I will never know what he saw there, al

I did not go the 4th day of the walk, I could not face another 10 miles of plodding around the countryside, I think this is mainly due to the fact that I have not been walking quite so much in the last year, due to bad weather and things like that.  I did not think I would even finish 2 days but I did 3 in the end, more than anyone else except the person who organised the walk.   Instead of going on the walk i tidied up around the place, and just sat around, and also watched the football this afternoon, it was a crap day.  I did not even go for a short walk, its still perishing out there, I have a short walk on Wednesday, a kind of trail run for group who want to do this short walk, a recky or something they call it. I have at last heard when the new kitchen is being put in, apparently its on the !0th of April, I should have a received a 21 day notice but I didn't, which I guess is typical of the organisation who are doing the work.
